=Village=

Y/N and Geto were now on a mission to investigate an incident in a village not far from Tokyo. Y/N was aware that two curse users had killed some of the villagers, but he believed that they might not have intended to harm them if his theory was correct. He glanced at Geto, sensing that Geto was not himself at the moment as they embarked on their mission. Y/N knew that Geto's mindset would completely change based on the choices he made and the path he chose when they confronted the villagers.

If the mission were to take a turn for the worse and Geto suddenly changed his heart, things would become much more complicated to fix. Y/N didn't know how he knew all of this plotline, but he simply followed his instincts and intuition.

As they arrived at the village, they found it surrounded by dense forests. The village houses remained the same as always, with large farms and fish ponds. The atmosphere seemed peaceful, but what the villagers were unaware of was that curse spirits lurked all around. This indicated that the curse spirits were responsible for the deaths of the villagers.

However, it appeared that Geto didn't notice the curse spirits, possibly due to a single curse spirit being able to turn invisible and potentially making others invisible as well. These spirits seemed clever enough to evade the sorcerers, but Y/N's keen eyes never deceived him and he wouldn't be fooled. This situation was perfect for curse spirits to attack villagers at night, but for Y/N, dealing with them would be easy. He wouldn't allow them to continue harming the villagers.

Y/N (Thoughts): My theory was correct, but now I need to confirm whether the curse users were responsible for killing the villagers or if they were innocent, trying to protect the villagers from the curse spirits.

Finally, they met an old woman, presumably the village head, along with her companions, waiting for Y/N and Geto to arrive at the scene.

Village head: Ah, you both have finally arrived. Come quickly, we have captured the two monsters responsible for killing our villagers.

Geto nudged Y/N's shoulder, prompting Y/N to turn his head towards him with a questioning hum.

Geto: *Whispering* I don't like this situation. What should we do?

Y/N put his finger on his chin, deep in thought. After a few seconds, he turned his head towards Geto with a smile on his face.

Y/N: Don't worry, I think I've got this. Follow my lead, okay?

Geto: *Nodding* Alright, just don't mess up.

Y/N: *Grinning* I won't. Have faith.

Geto smiled and shook his head before both of them followed the village head towards a different house where the curse users were being kept and locked up.

Once inside the house, they saw two young girls kneeling and hugging each other in a cage. The girls had the same face, but their hair colors were different; one was caramel and the other brown. Geto's expression almost showed disgust, while Y/N was shocked to see the two young girls badly beaten and shaken. Looking into their eyes, Y/N could see the fear and helplessness in the girls. This stirred something inside Y/N, something he didn't want to let out.

Geto was about to approach the girls, but Y/N stopped his movement. He gestured with his hand, indicating to Geto to stand back while he approached them instead. Y/N wanted to handle this situation with care. He knelt in front of the girls and offered them a cheerful smile.

The two girls clung tightly to each other, trembling with fear, afraid that Y/N might hurt them too.

Y/N: Hey, it's okay. I'm not going to hurt you two. I'm just here to ask some questions.

The girls continued to shake, but they nodded in response without saying anything.

Y/N: *Smiling* Are you two twins?

The girls nodded their heads.

Y/N: *Smiling* What are your names?

Both young girls hesitated before the girl with caramel hair finally spoke up.

Nanako: I'm Nanako, and this is Mimiko...

Her voice sounded raspy, indicating that she hadn't had anything to drink in a while.

Villager: These two are crazy! They used their mysterious powers to attack the villagers!

Village head: My granddaughter was nearly killed by these two, too!

Nanako: That's because she-

Village head: Shut up, you monsters! Your parents were just as bad! I knew we should have killed you two when you were babies!

Y/N had heard enough of the nonsense from the villagers. His eyes darkened, causing the girls to cower back in fear. Geto also felt the intensity from his senior, sensing that something ominous was about to happen. The villagers stopped their complaints, sweating profusely as the atmosphere grew heavy. Y/N stood up from his kneel and stared directly into their eyes, his gaze filled with hatred. He then turned his gaze back to the girls.

Y/N: Tell me, were you trying to help the girl, not harm her?

Nanako: *Nodding* We were trying to help... But she didn't know there was a strange monster trying to touch her...

Y/N sighed, and the pressure in the room began to ease, allowing everyone to finally catch their breath.

Geto (Thoughts): What the hell... I've never felt... Fear just from pressure like this before... It's going to end badly for the villagers.

Y/N: I believe we're done here. Release the girls... Don't make me repeat myself...

The village head nodded in fear and unlocked the cage to set the girls free.

Y/N: Geto, take this girl away from here. I have work to do in this village.

Geto looked confused but nodded, taking the girls in his arms and heading out. Y/N stood, glaring at the villagers without saying a word before leaving the house.

After leaving the house, Y/N took a moment to catch his breath and calm his mind. His anger slowly subsided, and he tried to regain his composure. As he surveyed his surroundings, he noticed numerous curse spirits watching him, some hiding behind houses and rooftops, while others seemed poised to attack him.

Suddenly, his ears began to ring loudly, causing discomfort in his eardrums, as a mysterious voice spoke to him in his mind.

????: "Why didn't you kill those villagers?"

Y/N chose to ignore the voice in his mind, emitting a grunt as a sign that he did not wish to engage with it.

????: "I see. You're just like your father. A weak man with a weak heart."

Y/N gripped his katana tightly, causing the wind to cease as the entire area fell into silence. In a swift motion, he cut all the curse spirits in half, eliminating them in one strike. The wind resumed its gentle blow, and the eerie noises from the curse spirits vanished.

The voice in his head hummed in approval of Y/N's swift actions in dispatching the curse spirits.

????: "Impressive, but you still have a long way to reach your full potential, boy."

A crack formed on the ground beneath Y/N's feet, and his anger was evident on his face at the mention of the last word. With a sigh, it seemed that all the spirits had been vanquished, leaving nothing else to be done. The voice in his head ceased speaking, bringing him a sense of relief as it had been quite annoying.

Y/N: I hope Yuki is at home. I need to find a way to relieve my stress. *Winks*

(A/N: Woah there, already!)
