(A/N: This chapter takes place before Y/N sparring with Gojo. I apologize for any confusion caused. Also, I have updated the chapter "There's Always A Third Option" to reflect that Haibara goes on the mission alone, when in fact Haibara goes on the mission with Nanami. I apologize for my mistake and any confusion it may have caused.)
We see Y/N walking hurriedly towards the infirmary room. Someone had been seriously injured after completing their mission, and Y/N hadn't expected it to turn out that way. From the information he gathered from his former teacher, Yaga, he learned that Haibara and Nanami were barely alive after facing a challenging situation on their mission. They had encountered a Deity, which was incredibly difficult to deal with. Fortunately, they had survived thanks to Y/N's secret blessing, just like Riko had before.
However, in Y/N's mind, he couldn't help but feel anger towards the Higher-ups. They were responsible for sending Haibara and Nanami on the mission without properly communicating the presence of a Deity in the area. It wasn't a normal cursed spirit. He felt frustrated that the Higher-ups seemed to disregard the potential danger and didn't care about the possibility of their deaths.
Y/N: Tch, the Higher-ups are even worse than I had imagined. Just like they did to me on my first mission. What a joke.
He arrived at the infirmary room, entered, and was met with Nanami, who had bandages wrapped around his left arm. Haibara, on the other hand, was in terrible condition. He had lost his right leg and arms, with burn marks covering half of his body. His injuries were extensively bandaged, and half of his face was also wrapped in bandages, with his right eye missing. Despite his severe injuries, Haibara smiled at Y/N's presence.
Haibara: *Grinning* Yo, senpai! It's been a while!
Y/N shook his head and smiled at Haibara, then looked at Nanami, who nodded in return. He was relieved that both of them had survived their encounter with the Deity.
Y/N: I'm glad both of you made it. How are you doing, Haibara?
Haibara: Well, thanks to Shoko, my body will be restored to normal in about half a year or so. Anyway, you don't have to worry about us, Y/N. We're tough as nails!
Nanami shook his head, slightly annoyed at Haibara's overly joyful tone, while Y/N chuckled because that was just how Haibara was. Then Y/N's expression turned serious as he asked them a crucial question.
Y/N: Did you notice any distinct features or curse techniques from the Deity? Anything that stood out to you?
Nanami answered Y/N's question.
Nanami: Well, to answer your question, it was most likely a Deity. However, its appearance was unlike anything I've ever seen before. It looked like some sort of demonic creature from hell.
Haibara: It resembled a dog, but with a strange face. It had four dark green eyes on each side and teeth all over its body. Its fighting speed was too fast for us to counter, and it even breathed fire that almost burned me alive!
Nanami: Yeah... For some reason, it attacked us but managed to knock us down without a scratch, which was strange. Then it unleashed fire, almost burning my entire left arm.
Y/N (Thoughts): They don't know about my blessing.
After listening to their responses, Y/N nodded his head, feeling a strange and familiar connection to the way they described the so-called Deity. Shaking his head, he checked his wristwatch and realized it was time to visit someone he had been wanting to meet.
