A/N

Hello everyone! I'm finally back after a break from this book! Thanks for your patience ;)

I have been very productive writing the other book I mentioned before and decided to bless you with a chapter as the first thing in July!

Mihrimah was utterly confused, she could hardly concentrate on her duty at hand.

Konur's confession had opened a door to emotions she had never felt before. She had always prided herself on her ability to remain focused on her duties and to put the needs of her people before her own desires. But now she finds it increasingly difficult to maintain that focus.

She barely noticed the alps' teasing as she passed them on her way to Toprak. Her thoughts were consumed by his confession.

Even they had noticed that something was off about her, to the point where Turgut approached her and asked if everything was alright. She quickly dismissed his question by saying everything was fine.

But it wasn't.

Her only way to figure everything out was to talk with Selcan. And no other.

Now Osman, Mihrimah, and the alps, as well as Kosses, whom she by the way decided to trust, rode to save Nikola from Geyhatu and his mongol soldiers.

Nikola and his soldiers were already surrounded by the Mongols and fought against them. Osman and Mihrimah were the first to aid Nikola against the Mongols.

Instead of being grateful. Nikola was beyond annoyed. ''I'm sick of Mongols and Turks!'' he yelled out.

With the help of Osman, Mihrimah, Kosses, Turgut Bey, and the alps, all the Mongols were killed.

But Nikola didn't stop there, now he attacked Osman but took a beating from him. Just as Nikola thought that he was about to die, Osman refrained from killing him, as that wasn't their objective for now.

Now they had to work together in order to overthrow both Geyhatu and Vizier Alemshah.

After creating a temporary alliance with Nikola, they parted ways, and now the Kayis had returned to the shepherd Akca's land, apparently they were waiting for Konur to come with some information.

Mihrimah felt uneasy. She didn't know how to act or to even look at Konur any longer.

She just finished tending to Toprak and was on her way to the tent when she saw Konur speaking with her uncle.

She froze.

'Run, Mihrimah. Run' She thought and managed to turn around to hide or something, she didn't know herself, but instead, she hit something hard.

''Mihrimah, sorry, are you alright?'' Turan Alp asked concerned. ''Are you hurt?''

''No, no. I'm fine. I'm the one who needs to apologize, not you.''

''Where were you running off to in such a hurry?''

Mihrimah didn't answer immediately, but slowly turned back and saw Osman and Konur looking at them. She quickly turned around and clenched her eyes, cursing herself for looking back. When she opened her eyes, she was met by a confused Turan, who waited for an answer.
