Corbin muttered something under his breath about me and my driving but did what I told him to do. He sent Joel a message that had our location while I continued to drive and swerve around trees, trying not to crash. "There," he said. "Did you get it?"

I swerved the truck to miss a tree, and he hit his head against the window with a loud thunk. "Sorry," I said when he swore and grabbed his head. I glanced at him from the corner of my eye before I looked at the road. "I did not mean for you to hit your head like that, Corbin."

"Well, no, fucking shit," he said, sarcastically, "but it happened." He scowled and narrowed his eyes while he looked at me, grabbing the 'oh shit' bar tighter.

"I-"

"Enough," Joel said, interrupting me, and I bit back an annoyed growl while I rolled my eyes and scowled. "Do not start a fight. Are you in your "magical" truck, Kel?"

"Yes," I said and nodded in confirmation. "I am in my "magical" truck, Joel. I am always in my "magical" truck. I do not know why I would be in anything different."

"She is also in the States," Corbin grumbled and rubbed his hand across his head before he grabbed the "oh shit" bar tighter when I swerved some more around different trees that seemed to appear out of nowhere.

Pop!

Pop!

Pop!

I swerved to miss another cluster of trees, muttering every swear word under my breath while I waited for Joel to finish whatever he was wanting to do and then tell us what he wanted us to do. "Hurry the fuck up, Joel!" I all but snapped while I bared my teeth and narrowed my eyes.

"I do not know how much longer this fucking "magical" truck is going to hold up with all of these fucking bullets hitting us." I swerved to miss another tree and growled when I almost swerved into another tree but was able to miss that as well.

"Oh my fucking Goddess," Corbin snapped when he almost his head on the window again when I swerved to miss both trees and follow along a path that seemed clear for a second. "Who the fuck taught you how to drive?"

"You did," I snapped back, grabbing the steering wheel tighter while I looked through the front window. "Who else do you think would have taught me to do it?"

"Ok, I am going to need you to go to this area," Joel said, and my screen lit up until it showed where I was but also where Joel was going to be. "Do you know how to get there from where you are going?"

I glanced at the screen to see that it was an area where there was basically nothing in that area and near the edge of the pack border as well as no man's land where no packs had claimed that land, especially since there was a deep ravine filled with pointed rocks in the middle of it.

No trees surrounded that area, and I had a feeling that he was going to try to use this area as a way for me to get out and then force those that were attacking us to step out into the open or at least be.

"Yes," I said and turned my truck that way while I nodded in confirmation. "I know how to get there. Why?"

"I will meet you there," he said. He paused and cleared his throat, growing serious. "Do you know who is shooting at you, Kel?" he asked, and I had a feeling that he raised an eyebrow in question.

"No," I said and shook my head. "If I did, then we wouldn't be in this fucking position."

"But we do think that it might be someone sent from that stupid Vesper we are dealing with," Corbin said, saying the same thing that I had been thinking but hadn't said out loud.

"Hmph." I had a feeling that Joel pursed his lips in annoyance before he cleared his throat. "Do you know how many?"

"We don't know a single damn thing, Joel," I snapped, grabbing the steering wheel tighter, "except for the fact that they are Werewolves, and they are trying to kill us on the orders of someone else."

I swerved away to miss another tree and kept going in the direction that Joel wanted us to go in, praying that we do not get hurt while we drove to safety.

"And also that Kel is a shit driver and should not be driving," Corbin grumbled, and I growled and narrowed my eyes.

"Well, you can always open the truck door and escape that way, Corbin," I said, giving him a sarcastic smile before I turned my attention back to the woods around us and swerving away from a different tree that seemed to pop out of nowhere. "Just be careful of the bullets that are still raining down on us."

Sure enough, more bullets rained down on us with a constant pop! pop! pop! and I couldn't help but pray that there was no one else in this mess, especially since I didn't know where these bullets were headed after ricocheting off of my truck.

Oh Goddess keep this pack safe... I grabbed my steering wheel tighter while I stared at the road, looking back and forth.

"Nope, I'd rather stay in this Goddess forsaken truck," Corbin grumbled while he narrowed his eyes and scowled. "I know for a fact that I will be hit by those bullets if I open the door of the truck to escape."

"And not only you but Ms. Rice as well," Joel said. He paused and cleared his throat. "Do you need me to stay on the line, Miss Rice?" he asked, and I had a feeling that he raised an eyebrow in question.

There was the sound of movement and glass jingling while Joel did something on his side of the phone. "I will be there as soon as I can and will hopefully be there before you," he said as if he wanted to soothe my worries and knew what I was thinking. "I just need to use both hands."

I bit back an annoyed sigh and slowly nodded. "Go ahead and hang up Joel. We will be there as soon as we can."

"Hopefully alive and in one piece while we do so," Corbin said. He muttered another curse word under his breath when I swerved to miss another tree, and I couldn't help but silently agree because I hated how these trees were appearing out of nowhere. "I'm driving back to the cabin after all of this, Kel," he said, and I held back an eye roll while I pressed my lips into a thin line.

"If we get out of this alive, Corbin," I said.

"You will," Joel promised. "I will see you soon."

And with that, he hung up the phone, leaving us with only the sounds of the bullets hitting the truck while we continued to drive towards the area where Joel wanted us to go.

Oh, Goddess, protect us
