Chapter 3

The twins are in the car, Weems is driving.

"Your first day and you're both already on Sheriff Galpin's radar. Wish I could say I was surprised." Weems comments.

Wednesday is sitting in the front seat, Friday in the back.

"What did he mean about my father?" Friday asked.

"I have no idea, but a word of advice. Stop making enemies and start making a few friends. You're going to need them." said Weems.

There's police on the road.

"Looks like an accident. I hope the driver's okay." Weems said.

"He's dead." said Wednesday.

Friday looked curiously at her sister.

"Broke his neck." Wednesday added.

"How can you tell from this angle?" Weems asked, craning her neck to see.

Wednesday fiddles with her necklace.

It's nighttime, Friday is on the balcony playing 'Paint it black' on her violin doing a duet with Wednesday.

Friday sighed when she finished her violin solo, Thing tapped.

"No, I I don't really feel better. There's just something wrong about this place. Not just because it's a school." said Friday.

She heard the window to the balcony open, but it wasn't hers it was Wednesday's, she looked as Enid stepped out.

"How the hell did you get that oversized violin out the window?" Enid asked.

Wednesday gestured to Thing and Friday.

"I had an extra hand." Wednesday said.

Friday and Thing walked over to Enid and Wednesday.

"Whoa. Where's the rest of him?" Enid asked.

Emily joined them and nearly jumped when she saw Thing.

"t's one of the great Addams family mysteries." Friday answered.

Furs howling.

"Why aren't you wolfing out?" Friday asked.

"Because I can't." said Enid.

She shows her claws.

"That's all I got. My mom says some wolves are late bloomers, but I've been to the best Lycanologist. I had to fly to Milwaukee, would you believe it? Yeah, she says there's a chance I may never you know." said Enid.

Emily and Wednesday headed into their respective dorms.

"What happens then?" Friday asked.

"I become a lone wolf." said Enid.

"Sounds perfect." Friday mutters.

"Are you kidding me? My life would be officially over. I'd be kicked out of my family pack with no prospect of finding a mate." said Enid.

"I'm failing to see the problem here." said Friday.

"I could die alone." said Enid.

"We all die alone, Enid." Wednesday said from inside the dorm.

"You really suck at this. Cheering people up." Enid cries shakily.

Emily comes across to hug the girl, while Wednesday comes and joins her sister.

"Why are you crying?" Friday asked.

Emily gave Friday an annoyed look.

"Because I'm upset." Enid snapped.
