Jayson's POV
"Did you catch any of it?" Justin asked me
I shook my head as I sat down on the sofa
I was finally home from the game and I made it home with just enough time to spare so I could eat and shower.
"It's still on but it's the award ceremony part, sending the link to the group chat now" Grace added
I clicked on the link and watched along
"I don't know half of these people" Jaylen said as we watched people win award after award
The shit was boring and I could barely keep my eyes open
To be fair I've been up since 7:30 this morning and it was 9:38 at night
"Last but not least we have the Viewers rank award!" The woman on the stage announced
At that point my eyes had closed but I was still conscious enough to hear what was goin on
"The award for number one trustworthy creator content goes to......CLEOPATRA TATUM!" The woman announced
Everybody on the phone was screaming so damn loud my eyes shot open and I sat up
I watched as Cleo walked up on the stage
She looked good as fuck
We all watched as the woman handed her a red trophy that looked like the YouTube logo, they posed for a picture and Cleo headed to the mic
She was bawling her eyes out and couldn't even get any words out but the camera just panned to the crowd who was clapping for her
"I- oh my gosh! First I just wanna thank god for getting me this far! I wanna thank my friend Justin for staying up late at night to edit my videos so they're always on time, my sister Grace for always allowing me to be me, and my man for always pushing me to keep going when I feel like I'm at the end of my rope. I wanna thank you guys who watch my videos, comment such sweet things, and never fail to make me feel appreciated. I wanna thank each and every one of you at home and in the crowd. this isn't just a win for me; it's a win for us! Thank you!" She said before getting off of the stage
Two wins for the Tatum household!
I really won at life if we're being honest.
"That's dope as fuck" Justin said
"She thick as hell!" Bia added
"That's not the point" Jaylen laughed
"Did you just agree that my sister was thick? Her husband is on the phone!" Grace stated
I chuckled
Grace stays on his ass and it's hilarious
"I wish I was in town, we could've threw a little party for her" Bia said
"I'm sending her flowers so nobody steal my idea" Grace said
"Imma send her flowers" Jaylen said
"You really raise my blood pressure bro" Grace scoffed
I just bust out laughing
It's like he does shit to purposely aggravate her
I think he's got some kind of shame kink on the low cause he seems to love being screamed at and degraded
"I gotta go, Cleo's calling"
"Surprised he didn't pull the wife card" Jaylen teased
I rolled my eyes and answered Cleo's call
She just screamed into the phone
Knowing Cleo she was most likely jumping around and spinning in circles right now so I clicked the FaceTime option
She immediately answered
"Look at it! Look at it! Look at itttt!" She said as she shoved her award in the camera
I loved her little SpongeBob references
"Congratulations baby" I smiled
Her excitement made me happy
"Congratulations to you too baby, I googled the score" she smiled
Of course she did
"Thank you beautiful" I smiled
"I can't wait to get home and put this number one ass on youuuu" she smiled as she danced around
"I really hope you're not in public" I laughed
"No, I'm in my hotel room but with the way I'm feeling I just might run up and down the hallway screaming about it" she laughed
"I'm still kind of bummed that you didn't have anybody there with you" I admitted
"I'm not alone" she laughed
"I meant somebody other than the bodyguard"
"Oh, well you're here in spirit" she said as she kissed her wedding ring
"I'm proud of you" I smiled
"Stopppp, I'm gonna cryyyy" she said as she tilted her head back
"I'm serious. I'm glad you chose me" I said as I stared at her
"Jaysonnnn" she huffed as she fanned her face
"I couldn't have asked for a better person to come into my life. You made life easier not only for me but for Deuce"
At this point she was bawling her eyes out
"You chose me, you idiot" she laughed through her tears
"Nah, you could've stood me up on that first date but you showed up and you damn sure didn't have to keep agreeing to dated afterwards. I might be the professional hooper but the ball was definitely in your court" I chuckled
I just watched as she laughed and wiped away her tears
"You taught me how to love myself again and you saw the good in me when I didn't see it in myself, I owe you everything for that" she said as she started to cry again
We spent the next 5 minutes just staring at each other in silence
"What time do you land tomorrow? I'll pick you up"
I watched as she shook her head
"Unless you wanna get caught fucking in your car I suggest you send Tori" she said softly
"Oh really? How you want it once you get here?" I smirked
"Stupid question really. You already know exactly how and where I want it" she said softly
"The real question is..when I give it to you are you gonna be in the bathroom losing your mind again?" I chuckled
I watched as she just bit her lip and shook her head
"No running?" I asked
"No runnin" she spoke still in the low tone
"I'm holding you to it" I nodded
"Good" she smiled
Another 5 minutes of silence went by until she said that she needed to get ready for bed
I told her I'd hang up and let her get situated but she insisted that I stayed because she wanted to talk more
Honestly I couldn't even think straight but I never hung up
We eventually both fell asleep on the phone
Lord even my dreams were about her
I ain't complaining though
