Halflings

Chapter 1

Everyone in the Cul-De-Sack were now in high school. The Ed's were all together still but now their schemes took a turn for the worse. What was more innocent now turned into stealing from others. Eddy was still the shortest out of the three and had went through the Kankers one by one, even Marie whom got over her crush on Double Dee went out with him. Ed was still the lovable oaf who everyone loved. He now played sports to get him into college, which no one knew why he wanted to go in the first place. Edd had changed some. He didn't use the vast vocabulary much anymore and went through a wardrobe change thanks to the other kids in the Cul-De-Sack (mainly Marie) but he still wore his black beanie like it was attached to his head with crazy glue. Nazz was now dating Eddy and still best friends with Kevin. Jimmy now very much was in love with Sarah but tried to hide it but always failed. Rolf who grew his hair out now has to wear it in a ponytail and became close with Ed as they are usually seen hanging out together more and more. Johnny still had plank. Kevin was still the jock and played many sports. His petal bike was upgraded to a motorcycle which he was never far without. Eddy and him put differences aside (after a lot of convincing from Nazz) and became friends as well with the rest of the eds.

Edd even though still keeping his grades up kept secrets from his friends. Sitting in his room reading through his notes he took earlier in class he had the urge to stretch. While stretching, he flexed his wings. "Man, it's a pain to keep what I am a secret" he sighed and went to his bed to lay down his arrow head tail swishing in the process. He sighed once more he knew being half dragon was hard to hide but his parents always being away didn't help the fact. He was lonely and he also wanted to hurry up and find his mate for life. "I've been watching you all and no signs yet. at least its not Eddy or Ed" Edd shuddered at that thought. Once a half dragon's mate turns 18 his/her wings, tail, claws and fangs grow in on the night of their 18th birthday. Edd has been watching and waiting half of the kids of the Cul-De-Sack are already 18. The only way he would know that his mate is ready is by the screams of pain he would hear according from his parents. Once he herd the screams he is to fly to them and tell them everything. "Mother said my mate is here in the Cul-De-Sack so I must bide my time and wait. But I would hate it if my mate turns out to be female" Edd sighed once more before getting up to go towards the bathroom. Edd knew he was gay and always had the biggest crush on the red head jock who lived right across from him. He looked in the mirror his fangs were still white though the enormous amount of meat he had half an hour earlier. Blame it on the amount of brushing he did after every meal he had. At school he would eat only the salads though the bland taste made him want to quit eating them. "Wait wasn't I invited to attend a birthday party today? Who was it... oh it was Kevin!" Edd said and he willed away his wings and tail. "I shall get ready for its his 18th birthday but I know he isn't my mate he couldn't be. I'm not that lucky" Edd sighed disappointedly.

"Double Dee! You made it! I'm so happy!" Exclaimed Ed picking double D up in a death hug. "Why yes and I cant breath Ed" Edd wheezed out trying to regain his breath after being put down by his friend. "Double D is here and what are you wearing?" Nazz came bounding to the door where Edd was. He was wearing blue cargo pants with a large black shirt that had a name of a band on it. He had it since Eddy pushed Edd into getting one of his ears pierced saying it would look cool and saying it would help him get the person he likes. In response to the memory he lifted his hand to his left ear where three earrings dangled. Kevin was sitting in the back talking to Rolf and Eddy. "Hey Kev what's up?" Eddy asked as Kevin spotted the dork despite his appearance. "The last guest appeared. Ok everyone the party is now on!" Kevin shouted.
