Chapter 6: one year later

A year passed by just like that Edd graduated high school with his friends, well mostly all. Ed failed and had to redo his last year of school. The oaf struggled to keep his grades up while he was playing football but as soon as the season ended he failed miserably. Not really surprising though. Soon it was approaching Edd's birthday. "What do you want for your birthday double Dee?" Ed asked while throwing both the ed's into a big hug. It has been a while since Edd could hang out with his friends because he was either babysitting Rave's kids or his brother's kid they were a little over a year old. Manic's tail and wings disappeared while Robyn's stayed.

"I don't know Ed, it's still a month away" Edd replied. Ed gasped. "It's fast approaching" Eddy said slumped on the couch after Ed let them go. True it was but Edd didn't know what he wanted from his friends. He knew what he wanted from Kevin but that's it. The three ed's hung out for a while longer then Ed and Eddy left to go home. Before they left they told him to think about what he wanted because they would come at the end of the week to hear his answer. Edd sighed because he knew his friends would come over even if there were others here. Ed loved the kids while Eddy on the other hand thought they were annoying. 'Yet he is still dating Nazz' Edd thought as he walked to the kitchen to fix himself something to eat.

Soon a month passed and it was Edd's birthday. Edd woke up and went down stairs and found Eddy and Ed waiting for him. "Come on double Dee we are gonna hang out today" the oaf happily said as he saw Edd. "Good morning Ed and Eddy. May I ask why?" Edd asked confused. "It's your birthday duh Sock Head now lets go!" an impatient Eddy said at the doorway. "You don't want to spend it with your two best friends do you?" Ed asked saddened. "No Ed it's not that. I thought you would come later that's all" Edd answered trying to make his friend smile which worked. They spent the day over at Eddy's house playing video games. Around 7pm Eddy's cell rung.

"Yo. Oh hey you guys almost ready? He keeps complaining that he wants to go back. O.k we will be there right away, see you there" Eddy said as he hung up making sure Edd didn't hear a word of the conversation. "O.k we can go now since we played all my games I wanted to play" Eddy said once he got back where the two were. "O.k Eddy!" Ed said as he turned off the console and picked up the two ed's and put them on his shoulders and started to head towards Edd's house.

Soon they were at Edd's door, Edd was fumbling with keys to get it unlocked when Eddy went and opened the door with ease. Inside was everyone from the Cul-de-Sack, Nat and Rave plus his brother. "Happy birthday Edd!" everyone shouted as Edd walked inside. All he could do was blush and say thank you. Looking through the crowd again he noticed something, Kevin wasn't there. "Where is Kevin?" Edd asked but got no reply from everyone. "It's a surprise Edd" Nazz piped up cheerfully. 'I wonder where he is' Edd wondered but went with it. The party was in full swing when the door bell rung. Edd hoped it would be Kevin. Edd searched the whole house and he couldn't find Kevin anywhere when the party first started. But when Nazz opened the door he found a pizza boy holding a tower of Pizzas. Nazz paid the Pizza boy and Dragoon took the tower to the kitchen. Soon everyone had a slice of the pie in their hands eating happily and hungrily. After the tower was demolished the cake came out. It was a small cake and that was gone in no time at all. "Eddy take my phone and call Kevin he should be here by now" Nazz said handing Eddy her cell. He nodded and headed of to a room where the music was toned out a bit.

"Dude where are you Edd has been worried now Nazz is too" Eddy asked after he heard Kevin pick up the phone. "Relax dork I'm almost there. I will be there in 3 minutes tops" Eddy heard Kevin reply. "You got everything right? Please tell me you do" Eddy asked. "Yep and he will love it" Kevin replied. Everyone but Edd knew what Kevin had planned and Kevin couldn't wait to see his face. Eddy went back down to give Nazz her phone and told her what Kevin told him. She giggled in response almost everyone wanted to know how this will go down. Even Dragoon when he heard what was gonna happen he said he would show up.

Kevin showed up like he said. Once Edd saw him he was confused Kevin had a suit on. 'But he works at the repair shop' Edd thought to himself. Kevin was nervous more than ever before but he still walked up to the front of the room. Nazz turned down the music once he got up there. Kevin cleared his throat before he began. "I would like to call Eddward up here please" he began. Edd was shocked Kevin didn't use his full name very much. Edd went up to the room and a couple of knowing giggles came from the girls. "Edd you know I love you with all my heart right?" Kevin asked as Edd nodded. "Good that will make this a lot easier then" Kevin continued then kneeling down on one knee. Edd's eyes went wide. "Eddward Marion Vincent you are the love of my life please, will you marry me?" Edd's hands shot up to his mouth covering it and his eyes started to water. Kevin's eyes grew wide with worry. Edd's hands left his mouth showing his gaped tooth smile. "Yes! yes I would love to marry you Kevin!" Edd threw his arms around Kevin. Kevin took one of Edd's hands and slid the ring on his ring finger. Edd looked at it it was a gold band with a aqua colored gem resting on it. 'The same color as my eyes' Edd thought staring at the ring with affection. He was interrupted by the cheers that came from the crowd that was watching them. Edd took Kevin's hands and noticed he had on a gold band on his ring finger. With confusion he looked up. "This means you are married Bro in our race anyways" Dragoon said clapping. Edd blushed and said a soft oh. Kevin nodded at Nazz and she turned on a slow song. "Care to dance?" Kevin asked holding his hand out for Edd. He took it and hoped that the night would last forever.

At 11pm everyone had left and left the couple to do what ever they wanted to do. What started from light kisses turned into hot passionate kisses by the time they got to the bedroom.
