Thirty-One: Home

Kelsey looks at my laptop and gives me a look as I stare at photos of Lando and me getting into a car. You can't see Oscar in them so it looks like we are together which isn't what we want. The girl he rejected had to have taken these. She probably got a good amount of money for them too, "What has he said about these?" she asks as we scroll through the photos. There's another one of him holding my hand.

"I haven't seen him all day but he probably got a call from McLaren about them," I tell her dropping my head in my hands, "I didn't want to cause problems for him". I slam the computer screen down and groan as she nudges my leg. She passes me a piece of chocolate and tells me it will be okay.

"We should call Peter he will know what to do," she tells me pulling her phone out. I sit back and listen to her tell him it's a code blue. When he shows up he has three things of ice cream with a sad look on his face.

"What's going on?" he asks throwing me the vanilla as he throws Kelsey cookie dough. He grabs spoons from the drawer and walks over sitting down next to me, "What did Lando do?" he asks making us both laugh.

I shake my head taking a bite, "He didn't do anything," I assure him as I grab the computer and show him the website. He reads the caption on the photos out loud laughing at how ridiculous they are.

"Who knew Lando was such a playboy?" he says taking the laptop into his lap and scrolling through everything. He sees a notification and turns it showing an email from McLaren. I sink in my chair open it and read over it, "What does it say?" he asks as I go back to eating my ice cream.

"They would like to have a meeting with me tomorrow morning about the photos. What do I do?" I ask slightly panicking. The three of us sit there contemplating what we should do when Peter sits up slightly.

"Why don't you text Lando and you can both post about how much fun you had with Oscar last night? Oscar would be more than happy to post to save the both of you even though he doesn't know the truth," he points out.

"You're a genius," I grin as I get my phone out texting the guys in our group chat.

Ella: We need to post on insta so people don't think Lando and I hooked up yesterday

Osc: Did you guys??🫢

Lando: no you muppet

Ella: please I just need people to know the three of us shared a cab and that I wasn't slutting around Australia

Osc: anything for you bestie 🫶🏻

Ella: love you bestie 🫶🏻

Lando: Did you guys hook up? 👀

Ella: Kelsey said you're a muppet

Osc: I'm coming over

Lando: homie whipped

Osc: says the single one🧐

Lando: I'm on my way too. I'm bored

Ella: sounds good but I'm not sharing my ice cream❌
