The vacations have begun, finally allowing us to breathe after this exam week. And yet the whole Maken-ki team is back at school, finishing the last of our reports and preparing the next ones for the start of the new semester.
But thanks to this, we received our grades for the first three days in advance, and one of them was an exam on control and precision in using our energy, which I obviously failed completely, only being able to use my powers in a raw way.
"What?! You missed this exam, but it's so important!" Haruko reads the provisional report card.
"Well, I did what I could..." I raise a defensive hand.
And then I'm not the only one, Minerva completely failed the science test and the Filian sisters slept on the math test.
"Well, Monday is catch-up day! Did you know? If you fail, you'll be staying here for the whole summer vacations to attend refresher courses!" Haruko explains.
"Wha?" The Filian sisters say at the same time.
"Hmmm... This vacation isn't about us anyway!" Said Yan Min, stretching. "We won't be here after the first term!"
"That's bad..." Haruko reflected. "If the president were to find out..."
"What's going on?" Said person suddenly shows up.
"President!" Haruko is surprised.
"Well, it passes for Minerva given that she's only just been transferred but..." Furan watches us with some annoyance. "At this rate, the Maken-ki's reputation is going to take a hit! Not to mention, of course, some of the people who these days bring in manga and other entertainment items!"
But nobody listens to her, either because they're busy drawing, reading manga or sleeping.
"...Everybody listen up!!!" Seeing this, Furan raises her voice. "It's decided, regarding this make-up exam, if any of you falls below 60, I'll ban the bringing of any distracting items into this room and the Kenkei room!" She said, slamming her hand against the desk, smoke billowing from it.
"Um, excuse me president but..." I raise my hand. "There's no way I'm going to pass it, so it might be wise to remove me from this punishment..."
"...It's true that you're a very good student apart from when you're asked to manage your energy. And I heard Minori-sensei say that she's trying to find a solution for you, which leaves no doubt that you have a handicap. But don't you think this is a good time to find it?" Furan says, half-judging me.
"You're right, but to do it in one day..." I scratch my head, unable to say anything.
"Senji-chan..." Haruko looks at me, apologetic.
"Minerva please, if I can't read my manga I... I!!!" Kimi throws herself into Minerva's arms, crying.
"And you can't read them at home?!" Furan asks.
"But, the catch-up is on Monday afternoon, right?" Minerva reminded.
"Huh? Okay, I'll do my best!" Kimi remotivates herself.
"Impossible." Inaho pauses, as she reads a cat manga with the Filian sisters.
"Oh, how about we study all afternoon tomorrow?" Usui suggests.
"All together?" Haruko asks.
"Yes, so you can help us with our revisions. Besides, it's better than doing nothing, I think!" Usui explains.
