This is a fantasy fic first and foremost. The more the series goes on, the more fantasy and less pirate it gets. Keep that in mind that this is more fantasy focused than pirate focused as a series in general. However, this book in particular is mainly focused on pirates.
Seonghwa is a prince, one to be married off very soon. His life has been planned since birth to be the next king on the throne, only approved once he's gets married. However, those plans changes as a group of pirates steal him from his home for their own goal, a goal that is not made known to Seonghwa.
Seonghwa has to fight for his life to belong and stay aboard the ship, but despite his initial suffering he recognizes something he has not had for twenty years.
