Jaeminn didn't come to pick up Renjun. It could be one out of two things: he was either busy or mad at Renjun.
"Jeno-ah, where's Nana?" Renjun asked anxiously as Jeno started driving towards the frat house.
Jeno tightened his grip on the steering wheel and sighed, "He's just a bit upset, Renjun." By the tone of his voice, Renjun knew that Jeno wasn't telling him the truth. He knew that Jeno was trying to protect him at the moment for what might come.
"I'm sorry," Renjun apologized sincerely as he stared out the window. There was a slight pause before Jeno answered calmly.
"It's fine, Renjun; I'm assuming you called to talk about something important," Jeno said and looked at Renjun briefly before looking back at the road, "Jaemin just needed a bit of time before seeing you."
"I," Renjun stuttered. He didn't mean to upset Jaemin, but he didn't try to explain anything to them and just ignored them. "I didn't mean to upset him."
"I swear, Jeno, I just-"
"Renjun, I get it, and it's okay," Jeno said softly yet monotone.
Renjun shook his head and sat back with a sigh. He didn't want Jeno to get it. He wanted Jeno to yell at him and be mad. But Jeno didn't hate him; Jeno loved him more than anything in the world, and Renjun had yet to understand that.
Renjun felt his stomach drop as they approached the house, knowing he had to face Jaemin. Knowing that Jaemin was upset made him afraid that the boy he loved would call it quits after everything he had put them through.
"Renjun, we're here."
Renjun took a deep breath and followed Jeno inside.
Jaemin was waiting for them in his shared room with Jeno. When he looked up at Renjun and Jeno, his expression was unreadable. Renjun hated being unable to read Jaemin's expression, and if there was one thing Renjun was scared of, it was a serious Jaemin. A serious Jaemin was never a good sign.
"Nana," Renjun whispered, and Jaemin gave him a cold stare.
"Why?" Jaemin asked coldly, "Why Renjun?"
"Jaemin, I-" Renjun stuttered, unsure of what to say anymore under Jaemins cold-hearted stare.
"Why did you ignore us? We were worried SICK Renjun, and you couldn't even answer one fucking phone call or send us one fucking text", Jaemin said with anger as he approached Renjun, "You can't keep shielding yourself away, Renjun"
"I had to, or else I would've hurt you and Jeno," Renjun said helplessly and tried to hold Jaemin's hand, but Jaemin moved away.
"It doesn't matter," Jaemin murmured as he stood in front of Renjun and looked into his eyes, "we would have taken any hit rather than been ignored; that's why we are in a relationship. We're supposed to be a team."
Jeno stepped in between the two, knowing Jaemin was getting too emotional. He hadn't said anything until now because he knew Jaemin had to get a lot off his chest.
"Jaemin," Jeno warned with a calm yet stern tone.
"What?" Jaemin spat to Jeno with a shaky voice.
"Keep calm," Jeno answered and pushed Jaemin away from Renjun. Renjun gulped as his eyes slowly became watery, and not once did Jaemin break eye contact.
"But that's all we fucking do, Jeno," Jaemin slightly raised his voice and looked straight at Renjun, "since the fucking beginning of this relationship."
