** Comes After Unexpected Mix**
"Why is Daddy on top of Mommy?" A voice murmurs from beside our bed.
"Maybe Mommy's cold?" Another soft voice responds.
"Can she breathe? Do you think Daddy's killing Mommy?" My daughter asks her sister, I stifle a laugh at the way her voice sounds concerned.
"I don't know," her sister replies, confused.
"Daddy has big feet," Rowan says.
"And big hands," her sister Raylee agreed, I can only picture the both of them nodding their heads in agreement.
"Yuck, he has hair on his toes." Rowan whisper-shouts a disgusted tone to her voice.
"Eww."
I yank the blanket over my wife, and I's heads listening to the girls giggle at my actions. I look down at the woman who's become my world, and watch as she sleeps taking in soft breaths. The little sun that shines through the blanket gives her skin a glow. Her eyes are closed, eyelashes softly resting on her pale face.
I move my lips towards her head listening to the murmurs beside our bed with a shake of my head. It's become a habit for the girls to stand above our heads talking to one another as if they didn't have their own room to do so. It was like they delighted in annoying us, and waking us up earlier than ever. My wife's body shifts when I kiss her tiny nose, her baby-blue eyes make an appearance. Shining their own light under the blanket.
She smiles upon hearing the whispers beside us.
"They're up again?" She whispers with a yawn biting the corner of her lip. I nod my head, enchanted by the way her eyes sparkle with amusement. No matter how many years I spend with her I could never get enough. Every time I glance at her it was like I was seeing her for the first time. Her beautiful baby blue eyes, hair long, and brown ready for me to pull. I move close to her, and I watch her close her eyes enjoying the way I kiss the top of her head, laying my hand on her swollen stomach.
"They get their nonstop talking gene from you, by the way." I tell her a teasing smile on my face. She pulls back while my lips chase her skin, she narrows her beautiful eyes at me.
"Yeah, and they get their obnoxious taste for candles from you. Why couldn't they be normal two-year-old's, and buy dolls." She hated the number of candles brought home per my daughter's request.
I was completely at their mercy.
Every time we went shopping, they would follow me to the candle aisle, and smell each one with me. I took it as a way of bonding. I loved watching them giggle at every smell they liked, and watching them make gagging noise at every one they hated.
"They definitely get their attitude from you," I murmur stealing one more kiss.
She sighs shutting her eyes again. Bailey was anything but a morning person. She takes even breaths signaling that she was about ready to go back to sleep. Especially pregnant. It seems like she slept all day.
"You know we're going to need to get up soon, feed them, and stuff." I tell her with a teasing smile, as she starts falling back asleep. She pops one eye open.
"They're your kids," She shrugs.
"They're your kids too." I counter watching as she smiles.
"Yeah, I know." She moves up kissing my lips in a quick kiss. I move to kiss her again, much longer but she stops me pushing her hand against my lips. Squishing my face with her lavender-smelling hands.
