Abhishek rang the doorbell, but when Aarushi didn't answer, he used the spare keys to open the door. To his surprise, he found a romantic setup in the hall, with fairy lights adorning the walls, scented candles flickering on tables, and a starlight curtain draped from the ceiling.
"Aarushi?" he called out, puzzled. Aarushi emerged from another room, dressed in a flowing yellow dress. Abhishek approached her, taking her hand gently.
"What's all this, madam?" he inquired, his tone filled with curiosity.
"Don't you like it?" she asked, a mischievous twinkle in her eyes.
"No, I mean... I do," he glanced around once more, a smile tugging at his lips, "I really do." He lifted her in his arms and settled her comfortably on the couch. Aarushi smiled and wrapped her arms around his shoulder, pulling him closer by his tie.
"I'm feeling quite hungry, can we have dinner now?" she whispered into his ear, her breath warm against his skin.
"Sure," he nodded, heading inside to freshen up. When he returned, he found Aarushi taking a short nap on the couch. He walked over and gently brushed her forehead. Aarushi stirred, feeling the wetness on her face.
"Shall we have dinner, sweet husband?" she asked as she woke up, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
"Absolutely," he replied, his heart swelling with affection.
"I've arranged everything, now it's your turn to serve," she said, her tone playful yet tender.
"As you wish," he smiled, taking her hand as they made their way to the dining area. Abhishek began serving the food for both of them, each dish a testament to Aarushi's effort and love. As they sat down to enjoy their meal together, surrounded by the soft glow of candlelight and the warmth of their bond, Abhishek couldn't help but feel grateful for the extraordinary woman by his side.
"What can I know, what's all this for?" he asked, holding her hand, his brows furrowed in curiosity.
"Nothing, really," she replied coyly, trying to hide her smile.
"Come on, Aarushi, I know you well enough to understand, tell me what's going on," he insisted, his tone gentle yet persistent.
Aarushi placed a warm hand on his and smiled, unable to contain her excitement.
"Well, today, Maa came... and, actually..."
"What did she say?" his expression changed, a hint of concern flickering in his eyes.
"Well, Maa wants to arrange a small baby shower party for me, and I wanted to ask if you're okay with it," she said, hugging him tightly, her heart racing with anticipation.
Abhishek thought for a moment, his mind racing with thoughts, before a warm smile spread across his face.
"Alright, for your happiness, we'll go there," he said, his voice filled with affection and reassurance.
She hugged him again, her joy overflowing as she felt his embrace, grateful for his understanding and support. Together, they embraced the prospect of celebrating their journey into parenthood with the ones they loved.
Nitya emerged from the washroom, her attention immediately drawn to a gift box resting on her bed. Intrigued, she approached it and lifted the lid, revealing a stunning formal dress nestled inside. Setting the dress aside, she reached for the note attached to the box and read its contents with a growing sense of anticipation.
"I hope you like the dress," the note read, its simplicity tinged with a hint of mystery.
Curiosity piqued, she discovered another note tucked within the box, its message sending a thrill of excitement coursing through her veins.
