In the silent night, Aniket sat engrossed in his work, the soft glow of his laptop illuminating the room. Suddenly, the tranquility was interrupted by the sharp sound of a doorbell echoing through the house. Aniket glanced at the clock—it was past midnight.

Setting aside his work, he made his way to the door, wondering who could be visiting at such an hour. Before he could reach the door, a maid answered it, her eyes widening in surprise at the sight of Nitya standing there.

Aniket's heart skipped a beat as he took in her unexpected presence. She stood before him, clad in her bridal attire, her eyes holding a mixture of determination and vulnerability. Aniket was about to speak, but he halted as Nitya raised a hand, silently urging him to pause.

वामांगमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति वाक्यं प्रथमं कुमारी।।

Nitya's voice cut through the solemnity of the moment, her words carrying a profound weight as she addressed Aniket with unwavering determination. "If you go on a pilgrimage, take me with you. If you observe fasts or perform any religious rituals, let me participate too. Just as you're seating me on your left side today, you'll place me there on that day as well. If you agree, I'll stand by your left side," she declared, each word resonating with sincerity and conviction.

Her step closer to him bridged the physical distance between them, mirroring her unwavering commitment to stand by his side through life's journey, come what may.

As the weight of Nitya's words hung heavy in the air, the room seemed to shrink around them, the silence broken only by the cadence of her impassioned declarations.

"As you respect your parents, similarly my parents will be yours, you'll treat my parents with the same respect as your own, and as per my family's traditions, they'll uphold religious rituals. If you agree to this, I'll stand by your left side," she continued, each word measured and deliberate as she took a step closer to him, her resolve unyielding.

जीवनम अवस्थात्रये मम पालनां कुर्या:
वामांगंयामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति कन्या वचनं तृ्तीयं।।

"If you take care of me throughout my youth, adulthood, and old age, if you accept this responsibility for a lifetime, then I'll stand by your left side," she proclaimed, her voice trembling with emotion as she remained rooted in place, her eyes searching his for a glimmer of understanding.

"You've already left me midway, Aniket, how do you expect me to move forward?" she pressed on, her words a poignant reminder of the wounds that still lingered between them, her heart laid bare before him.
