Chapter 19

I went into the kitchen to fix myself a snack. I just got some Oreos with some milk and sat down at the table. I dunked the cookie into the milk. It reminded me of when I was smaller. I used to come home every day after school and eat Oreos. I found myself grinning at the thought. Those were much simpler times.

I had to figure out what I was going to do for money. I could find another bakery, but I didn't know of any others that paid nearly as well as the one I used to work at. I was wondering if I should try a new hobby, but I didn't do anything other than bake. Jess could probably help me find something. I just realized I never called her back!

I took my iPhone out and dialed Jess's number. There was no reply. I left a quick message telling her to call me back, so we could chat about this. She was always good with advice. I put my phone down on the table and continued eating. It started buzzing. I had received a text. I smiled at the caller I.D. It was Niall.

Hey, beautiful !! How are you this lovely afternoon?

Heyyy !! I'm great, thanks. You just saw me a few hours ago...you're already wondering about me? :)

Well, yeah. I haven't stopped thinking about you... ;)

I knew that made me smile like an idiot. I could feel my face looking stupid. Niall could be such a sweetheart sometimes. He always knows how to compliment someone.

Ha! I was wondering if you're doing anything now or wanna do something later?

I'd love to do something now !! I'm just eating cookies, but you can come on over if you'd like. I don't think Louis would mind...that much..

Cookies?? I'll be there in 3.2 seconds.

I put my phone down and looked out the window. I saw Niall run outside, tripping over his own feet. His face almost made contact with the ground and it made me laugh. The next thing I knew, he was at the front door. I opened it up, and I let him inside.

"Hey!" I said.

"Hello there!" Niall greeted me. He kissed me. It only lasted a few seconds before he ran off into the kitchen.I followed him and saw him sat at the table eating away the Oreos. "These are my favourites." Niall moaned in satisfaction. I grinned and rolled my eyes.

My phone buzzed again. I looked at who it was expecting it to be Jess, but it wasn't. It was Harry. I knew the smile from my face dropped when Niall asked me who it was. I was honest, and Niall didn't know how to react either. I just decided to read it and respond as if we were still best friends.

Hi? Just hi? I was a bit confused with the start of the knowingly awkward conversation.I was just going to keep it as casual as possible.
