Chapter 22

"We have to talk about something important." Niall told me as we sat down in his living room. There was a serious tone in his voice.

"What is it?" I asked.

Niall stared at me a while before responding. "Well, I don't know if Louis or anyone told you, but the lads and I are going to start our tour soon. In about two weeks to be exact."

"Oh yeah! I've heard about that. It's your world tour, right?" I enthused.

Niall nodded. "It is. I'm actually really excited! It's going to be incredible, but I'm going to be gone for a while."

I understood what he was saying. "And we wouldn't be able to see each other." I muttered. Niall nodded again.

"I wish I could take you with us, but management said no." I was disappointed. It would have been amazing to come see the boys perform in all of these different places. It would've been great to see the tour life. "I know it's going to be hard, but I know we can make it work." Niall nervously smiled.

I gently smiled. "Of course we'll make it work. One way or the other, we'll figure it out." I sweetly said.

"Let's just promise now that all this time and distance between us won't change us." Niall said, keeping his serious tone.

"Of course."

Niall stuck his hand under the couch we were sitting on and pulled out a box that looked like it contained jewelry. "Here." He said while handing it over to me.

I couldn't believe he had gotten me something. I grabbed the box. "What is this?" I asked.

"Just open it." Niall said, watching my every move. I obeyed him and slowly opened the box. Inside was a beautiful necklace. It was a silver chain, and there was a sapphire gem shaped in a heart. I was sure my jaw hit the floor.

"Niall," I was absolutely speechless. "This is so unbelievably beautiful." I said in awe. I was trying to express my gratitude as best as I could.

Niall smiled. He looked relieved that I loved it so much. "I'm glad you like it. I knew you liked sapphire, so I decided to get this for you."

"Thank you so much, Niall. I love it." I smiled.

"It's also a promise. A promise that you'll always be mine while I'm away." There was a sweetness in his voice.

I blushed at the meaning behind this necklace. The thought was actually unbelievably sweet. I was always one for all these sappy stories. I hugged Niall tightly. After that he took the necklace from the box and told me to turn around. He put the necklace around my neck. With all the time he was spending, I figured he was having difficulties with the clasp. I giggled at him.

Eventually he got it. I turned around to face him again. I looked down to admire the necklace hanging around my neck. It fell perfectly across my chest.

"Beautiful!" Niall said.

I blushed once again before speaking. "I feel like I should get you something, so that way you'll always be mine while I'm here and you're not."

"No need to get me anything. I already know that I'm yours." Niall cockily said.

I chuckled at him. "Oh, but of course." I rolled my eyes in a joking matter.

"Well, am I?" Niall looked with hope in his eyes, almost like a puppy.

"Of course you are! Niall, there is no one else but you. You're mine, and I'm yours." I said.

Niall grabbed his guitar resting in the corner of the living room. He pluck each string before strumming a familiar tune. He then started to sing.

Well, you done done me and you bet I felt it. I tried to be chill, but you're so hot that I melted. I fell right through the cracks, now I'm trying to get back.
