Getting to Know You

As Mari and Sam stepped through the elevator door, they were met with a surprising sight. Before them stood six anthropomorphic animals all dressed in high tech suits with individual color schemes. 

"Um, hello." Mari said with a shy wave, her mouse ears lowering a bit. Sam, on the other hand, was checking out the main living area.

"This place is awesome!" She said as tried to take in everything at once. Ace was the first to speak up.

"Nice to meet you gals. Names Ace Bunny. Pleased to me ya." He extended his hand to Mari as she took it in turn. He was about her height and his main color scheme was yellow. "This here is the rest of the team, the Loonatics." He motioned to each member. Sam was now paying attention.  "The other bunny is Lexi." 

"So nice to meet you!" She said. She appeared to have blonde hair and her color of choice was pink. 

"Then there's Rev, the fastest roadrunner around these parts."

"Sonicetomeetyou.Icantwaittohangoutnandseewhatpowersyouguyshave!" Even his speech was fast and he was decked out in red.

"Then Slam Tasmanian. Our muscle of the team." Slam's suit was dark purple and he said something in a different language that the girls figured was a greeting.

"Tech here is our resident invented and genius." He was coyote and his suit was green. 

"Nice to meet you, girls." He said.

"And that's Duck." He pointed to the mallard. He was the shortest of the group and his suit was orange. 

"Ladies, if you ever want a real gentleman, he's right here." He tried to be suave. Both girls looked at each other and rolled their eyes. He had an ego.

"Feel free to ignore him." Ace said with a teasing grin.

"Good to know.I'm Mari, by the way. That's Sam." Mari said while Sam gave them wave and small smile of her own. "I guess you guys already know, but Zadavia sent us. She told us that we could figure out what powers we might have and to be part of the team."

"Bingo! And that's where Tech will help you ladies." Tech stepped forward. 

"We'll run a few tests to determine what your powers could be and what animals you girls appear to resemble. From there, I'll determine a training regimen to catch you two up to speed with the rest of us."

"Sounds good me." Sam said.

"Same here." Mari added. 

"Then follow me." He said as he walked to his lab.

"While you girls are doing that, we'll get your rooms set up!" Lexi said. 

"We will?" Duck groaned, making Lexi elbow him in the side. "I mean...we will!" But he wasn't happy about it. 

Time skip cuz I'm lazy

After running several tests, Tech was able to give the girls the answers they needed. Mari, like she already had guessed, was crossed with a gray mouse. Her powers were elemental manipulation. It was decided that over the next few weeks, she would slowly learn to control each element. When picked the color of her suit, she chose light blue.

For Sam, it was found out that she was crossed with a tanuki, or the Japanese raccoon dog. And true to the legend of the tanuki, her powers were illusions. Her suit color was white.

Their training started off simple, with Ace and Lexi helping them develop the physical skills they would need in a fight, light reflexes and agility. Ace and Lexi would teach them the skills, while Slam, Rev and Duck helped them apply by sparring with them.

They soon moved on to their abilities. Mari was able to control the four main elements: water, earth, fire and air along with electricity and occasionally metal. Sam was slowly learning how to make illusions. She couldn't hold them for very long at first or make them very big. After some time and practice, she was able to make illusions of entire buildings, even making them feel real. Her favorite was making several copies of herself to use in a fight.

In their spare time, the girls hung out with the Loonatics and got to know them better. Sam spent a lot of time with either Slam or Rev. She liked testing Slam's strength and Rev's speed against her copies. Mari could often be found either designing inventions with Tech or sparring with Ace and Lexi. 

And of course, Lexi always managed to steal them away for some much needed girl time. Which they very much enjoyed. 

Overall, the girls found themselves settling in to their new life style and the real excitement was yet to come.
