It was a record setting heatwave in Acmetropolis. The citizens were miserable and trying to find ways to cool off.
In the Loonatics headquarters, everyone was doing their own thing. In the common area, Ace was meditating, Duck was wearing a cape while posing, Mari and Sam were playing a video game against each other, and Tech was eating a pizza that Rev had just picked up.
"Brr. Now that is cold." He said as he took a bite. "Where'd you get it? Iceland?"
"Actually, no." Rev said. "I just picked it up from a pizza joint downtown, which I must say is abnormally cold for this time of year. But if you really like the pizza they have in Iceland I could go back and get some and be back in 4.2 seconds but of course that is just an estimation because you never know about traffic." Tech shut him up by shoving the slice of pizza in his mouth.
"That was one of those questions that didn't require an answer." He said and turned to Ace." Hey, Ace."
"On it, Tech." Ace said as he opened his eyes and used his laser vision to heat up the pizza.
"Extra crispy. Pizza, Duck?" He offered the mallard.
"Are you kidding? I've already had my protein shake. It's vitally important to maintain a superhero physique, because you can't be flabby when you're...the Duckinator!"
"Yesterday you were calling your self Super Duper Duck." Sam said with out looking up from her game.
"Yeah, well it wasn't quite rolling off the tongue. Besides, I need a name that will fit on the costume."
"How about...Duck." Ace said. Duck just glared at him.
"Very funny." He replied sarcastically.
"Ladies?" Tech offered.
"I'm good." Sam declined. Mari was quick to take the offer.
"Yes, please!" She jumped from her bean bag and dropped her controller, causing her to lose.
