Attack of the Fuzz-balls

Another day in Acmetropolis and Ace was currently in the training rooms fighting against hovering disks to improve his abilities. Mari was with him, practicing her electric manipulation to destroy them. Slam was watching while Tech was working on something. The two stopped once all the disks were destroyed. Sam and Lexi walked in a few moments later.

"Look what we got!" Lexi said. In their hands were two fuzzy round creatures. Slam thought they were snacks and tried to eat them. Both girls moved before he could, causing him to bump into the giant laser gun behind Tech, causing his to get shoved by it. The gun came close to frying him before it unplugged. Mari walked over and helped him up.

"What are those? You bought new cotton tails?" Ace asked. 

"No, it's a fuzz-z." Ace and the others only looked confused. 

"Oh, come on!" Sam said. "Bio-pets are only the coolest trend ever to hit Acmetropolis."

"I'll stick with Squeaks. At least I know what species he is." Mari said and thought about her own beloved pet.

"And what do you hit it with?" Ace asked. 

"You don't hit it, you love it." Lexi said. "They'll be what ever you want them to be. A glove, a choker, a cuddle walker."

"Or just a friend." Sam added when Duck walked in.

"Hold it right there, sister!" Duck said and snatched Lexi's fuzz-z. "How did you two get a hold of these anyway? My fuzz-z's been on backorder for weeks. Are you sure one of these isn't supposed to be mine?" Lexi was quick to take back her pet.

"Back off, Duck. Zozo is mine." Lexi said, making Duck laugh at the name she picked.

"Zozo?" 

"Like you had any better ideas?" Sam quipped.

"And what about yours?" Duck asked.

"Flare." Sam said as she pet the little red fuzz ball.

"Fitting." Mari said as she pet it as well. Just then, Zadavia appeared on the screen. 

"You're not going to believe this one, Loonatics. But there's a situation in South Acmetropolis that requires your attention. A residential zone in the fourth quadrant seems to have a giant spider problem."

"Didn't they spray for giant spiders last week?" Ace said.

"This family barely escaped with their lives." Zadavia said.

"Species? Origin?" Tech asked.

"Unknown and unknown." Zadavia replied. 

"Lovely." Mari groaned. She hated bugs.

"Forget where it came from. Where's it going?" Duck asked. "It's not coming here, is it?"

"The plan was for you to go there." Zadavia said. "I'll transfer the coordinates and transit. Zadavia out." And like that, she disappeared. 

"She get's to go out and we get to battle mutant spiders. Nice! Let's jet!" Ace said. Everyone grabbed their jetpacks and flew out of head quarters. Ace had to stop Sam and Lexi from bringing their fuzz-z's with them. But that didn't stop them. 

Everyone did a sweep of the area before the giant spider appeared, having crashed it way out of building. Duck got hit in the process. Slam grabbed the creatures leg, but the spider turned the tables on him and slammed the Tasmanian devil into the ground. Rev got Slam out of the way before he could get hit again. A giant crack appeared in the ground by the mutant spider. 

"Slam, get it to the bridge!" Ace ordered. Slam did as told while Rev ran around it to keep the spider distracted. 

"Ace, Mari, we need some heat to melt the supports of the bridge. Lexi, you do the same. We'll trap it." Tech said as he used his powers to remove the bolts in the bridge. Once the supports were gone, the whole team pushed the bridge until it fell into the canal below.
