Saying Kasha hated—
Reaping day would be an understatement it was a constant reminder of what she had done, and although she didnt regret it, she hated herself for dragging her two best friends into the whole mess.

"You think they'll ever stop this shitshow?" Asked Millet, tossing down a bag of grain from the back of a truck.

Kassian shrugged, grabbing the grain bag and hauling it onto his shoulder. "Who knows, its not like it affects them— they aint sending their kids into the arena." Kassian dropped the bag onto one of the factory doorsteps, giving the door a hard knock before he walked back towards the truck. The door swung open and one of the factory workers gave them a thankfull nod.

"Thanks Kiddos, you lot stay out of trouble!" The old man told them, giving them a warm smile.

"Anytime Mr. Miller," Kasha tipped her hat, from where she was sittiing on the edge of the truck. "We'll come around with the next delievery soon."

Kassian pulled himself into the truck, plopping down beside Kasha, stealing her hat off her head and putting it on his own. "Lean any futher, and you might aswell purposly fall out of this thing."

"Oh I'll be fine." Kasha brushed him off, "how many bags we got left?"

"Just the ones we gotta deliever to town hall, then thats it." Millet told them, "Besides reaping starts soon anyways."

"Great, just what I was looking forward to." Kasha sighed, "thanks for reminding me."

"Not like you can avoid it." Kassian pointed out, "They'll hunt you down and drag you to the square."

Millet scoffed from behind them, "Yeah, Hayes had to beg them to even let him have the day off from work— his momma's real sick. I dont think she'll make it to next week."

Kassian's shoulders sunk, taking the hat off his head and letting it rest in his lap, "maybe they shouldnt work them so damn hard in the factory— just last week that kid Grannit got stuck in the wheat shredder and got both his legs sliced."

Kasha grimaced, "He works with my brother, well he did anyways."

When Kasha arrived home she was met with her brothers sitting at the kitchen table. She was sure they had just gotten off of their shifts due to the exhuasten littering their faces, they had dirt and grime casted on their bodies. Their hats were disarded on the table with their work gloves, making Kasha relize that Kassian had never given back her lucky hat and was probally still wearing it.

"Kasha Kasha!" She heard a whining voice, before she felt something jump onto her. It was Judai her younger brother. Kasha stumbled back from the force of the little boy.

"Give her a break Judai." Scolded Seeder, "she just got off of work."

Judai pouted, but Kasha was thankfull that he listened and took a seat at the table alongside her older brothers. Kasha could feel the tiredness seeping through her body, and as much as she wanted to take a nap, she couldnt. The reaping was edging closer and closer, and soon Kasha would have to bear through it.
