Chapter 25

""Ad Astra per Aspera" - to the stars through difficulties"

Astralea, now Luna POV

I'm staring at the two men chained to a wall, shock on their faces.

I love when they don't expect the ending.

"You won't get away with this." Arcane says.

I smile at that. "And who is going to stop me? You? We already went over this, there is no one left."

He is silent for a few moments, clearly realizing that he won't be getting out of this alive.

"Enzo will kill you himself."

"I won't be doing that." Enzo walks out from the corner and comes behind me. He wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me closer.

"You are in this too? She is harming the Italian Mafia too!" Blaze screams.

I've never seen that man lose his shit like that. 

I love it.

"Actually, she already did. I just received the word that there was a slaughter. All the higher-ups are dead."

"And you are okay with it?"

"I think it's time for a change."

"They will know it was you."

"No they won't." I'm a little annoyed by this back and force so I have to chime in, "Astralea Richmond and Enzo Moretti were killed during Italian-American war. How sad."

"Someone will know." Arcane comments. His comments are annoying.

"Well that's the wonder of the underground world, our faces are hidden, and those who saw mine, are dead. Plus, I already have a fake persona that is known, do you like my hair by the way? I always thought silver fits me more. Well, I guess it's more gray. It's hard to get that silver color on the hair and I am tired of wigs, so I guess a middle ground."

"I think you look gorgeous, little devil." Enzo says and his tone makes me melt.

"And what are you going to do? Walk into the sunset holding hands?" Arcane just had to put his 5 cents in.

I snort. I actually fucking snort.

"I am too violent for that kind of a happy ending. No, Enzo and I are officially co-rulers of this... island. We might change the name though, I don't know, there are so many options."

"It's not that easy to co-rule." Blaze is looking at Enzo. He knows that he can't say anything to affect me, so he is hoping to throw Enzo off.

"It is, when you are madly in love with a woman you are planning to rule the world with."

"Is this what you two are planning on? Ruling the world." Arcane laughs.

"Ruling the underworld." I state, "It is destroyed after all, we will just have to supervise it and adjust a thing or two. And make sure everyone is actually dead."

"And what about us?"

"You are going to die." I say casually. "You didn't think I gave you that whole evil monologue and would risk you to live? Are you already feeling the effects of the poison, or it hasn't kicked in yet?"

Arcane's eyes are wide.

He didn't expect that.

I know that he has been working on freeing himself this whole time. So did Blaze.

That's what I would have done after all.

Quietly free myself and when the time is right, escape.

So I had to make sure they didn't succeed.
