Hi!
Thank you for choosing to read this book, I hope from the prologue you know that you will not be disappointed. That was just a small snippet to introduce the characters and express the intended dynamic before we head into the main story which will began in 6th year. There are, however, a few little notices I would love to clear up before you begin reading! I have poured so much passion and research into this book to make sure it is as good as possible, however that does leave room for inconsistency and mistakes.
The book will try and stay as true to canon as possible, however, in part two as we move towards the war there are some things i have changed. That part of the book is more of a AU, where I've applied the normal Harry Potter timeline to the Marauders cast. I chose to follow this storyline for the Second World War because, if I'm being honest, I'm SICK of characters dying. Yes it's a war, yes people die, but I dont know if my mental health can cope with reading another fic where all of my favourites are killed - so, I wanted to try something differen and less predictable.
This story features a lot of music. The songs that Leila and Meredith's band are performing will be 70s and 80s, however forgive me if they're not. Also, I've taken inspiration from modern songs for the ones that they have written, I will always leave a note to begin listening in certain scenes so that you can imagine them! I couldn't write a song to save my life so.... i had to do some borrowing x
Furthermore, yes there are queer characters because I live to terrorise JKR. However, this book will be realistic. We are in the 70s and 80s dear readers, and that means certain queer terminology and freedoms may be a little different - also, not all my characters will be open form the beginning and that plays a large role in their character development, so please be patient. My motto for this book is, dont question and just wait!
In terms of characters and head cannons, imagine who you like! I will leave some inspiration for my main characters and there will be minor details about appearance or class in the book, but feel free to find yourself in any of these characters.
