Loid's mind was no where Fiona's was.

Every five seconds, he had been thinking about how he could try to at least pick up the pace on STRIX. He had really tried his best listening to her, but Handler dropping the bomb on him had really distracted him.

And for some reason, he couldn't bear the idea of leaving them; even if this was 'just for the mission.'

Well-that's what he constantly told himself. He didn't like it.

I couldn't possibly be so attached to this fake family, this sham. We can't be close like this, I've separated myself as much as I could when it didn't come to missions!

And yet, the thought of him telling Yor and Anya about him leaving only broke his heart.

Wait, what?

Loid had felt himself needing to pull it together, what did he just say?

Don't say that, Twilight. You've been too vulnerable lately, people have been noticing it.

While Loid's mind paced, Fiona was busy discussing with only half of Loid's real attention. She had only noticed when she had asked a question about a date of the mission, and he had only said 'yeah, that one.'

That wasn't even a clear response, which kind of ticked off Fiona. She looked at him with a bit of an odd look, immediately being able to read his confused expression.

Great, he's daydreaming again. She told herself, clutching her fists. What the hell was he going on about again? In his head?

Recently, Fiona had noticed Loid basically being absent half of the time.

He was there physically, but he wasn't really there mentally.

It really didn't click with Fiona, which only confused her even more. She was seriously pissed about his behavior, it was like he had no true respect for him.

She didn't want that thought to be true, but what else would it have been?

"Twilight." She sharply whispered, which he flinched at her usual tone and looked down at her.

"I'm sorry, what were you saying?" He apologized, and Fiona's eyes only stared at him with obvious dissatisfaction. Loid felt her eyes dig deep into his soul, throwing daggers at him.

She sighed quietly as she turned on her heel, walking away.

"Wait! No-Nightfall!" He called out to her, but she only continued to walk away. She didn't once look back at him, which he just decided to drop it.

He couldn't do anything about it now. Great, she probably notices the vulnerability too.

Loid sighed, fixing his coat and gathering his belongings. He decided that he needed to head back to his office and clear his head. He also still hadn't properly answer whatever Fiona's question was, so he had to get back at her with that.

Now that he was alone, the question in his mind resumed.

How could he keep Operation STRIX from being given to this other spy?

After Loid got the news, he had done all the research he could on this 'Agent Murphy' character.

As he walked down the street, he tried not attracting anyone's attention towards him. (not like anyone was there.)

Agent Murphy.

Loid could describe this agent's looks and a decent description of them based off of what others said.

Tall-maybe around 6'2, masculine shape, brown hair, blue eyes.

Based off of other agents' experiences with Agent Murphy, he's easy to get along with. He's quite the humorous type, but he's apparently able to stay on the more calmer side.
