The car pulled up next to me and drove at the pace I was walking at.

"Hey you!" A voice shouted from the car. Seemed to be 3 boys who seemed nothing but weirdos.

I stared at them confused till I recognized a face. Could it be Bob? The guy I just had an awkward encounter with?

All 3 of them got out of the car holding flasks, clearly drunk as fuck.

"You were that whore who disrespected me earlier!" Bob yelled and spilt the rest of the liquor that was in his flask at me. "Excuse me?!" I raised my voice and he laughed.

"Yeahhh you heard me" he gritted his teeth and one of them whipped out a knife.

Oh fuck.

"Get her!" He screamed.

I ran as fast as I could but eventually I couldn't run anymore. I ran till my legs felt like they were jello.

They tackled me and collapsed me to the ground throwing hard punches to my face. I tried to get them off me but I was too weak at the moment.

They kicked me in the ribs, and finally my head and that's when I couldn't keep my eyes open for any longer.

"Hey!" A voice screamed from the distance.

I heard the boys all run away and I just laid there on the cold ground, slowly opening my eyes to see the boy I saw earlier standing above me.

"Oh shit, you're covered in blood. Come 'ere." I felt my body being lifted from the ground and he carried me to a house I couldn't remember.

The only thing I could make out was a group of boys talking as I was being laid on a couch. It even hurt to lift a finger.

"Yeah I found her laying in the street, the broad got beat up by Bob. When I tell you I'm gonna murder-" Dal's voice got loud.

Broad?? This man hardly knows me

I was too dizzy to even care and I passed out cold.

I woke up with my head pounding not recognizing where I was.

The smell of pancakes and waffles filled the room and I heard silverware clacking on ceramic plates.

I shot up off the couch forgetting how badly sore I had been, and winced in pain.

All of them were in the kitchen eating and talking. I sat up and rubbed my head and groaned from the pain.

"Good morning sunshine!" A guy wearing a black fitted shirt and jeans' voice called out from the kitchen.

"Wow you had a night." A guy with jacked up teeth shoving cake in his mouth laughed at the sarcastic comment he made.

A tall boy with blue eyes and brown hair wearing a DX shirt hit him in the arm. They started to wrestle and knock something's off little tables in the living room.

I groaned and covered my face, processing the fact that I didn't go home last night. I sat back down on the couch and put my head in my hands.

"Guys knock it off, will ya? Hey im Darry. Here's an ice pack for ur face, okay?" He said sweetly as he approached me and hand it to me. I looked up at him and smiled. I put it on my face, already feeling much better.

"I'm sorry about Sodapop and Steve, they don't know how to behave around women. Would you wanna come eat?" He asked. "Oh no I couldn't. I have to get home, but thank you though." I replied and he nodded and picked up after the two.

I grabbed my jacket and reached in, trying to find my cigarettes.

They were gone.

"They fucking took my cigarettes." I mumbled under my breath and started heading out the door.

As I stepped out onto the porch I was follow by Dal who i didn't think was in the house at the time.

"Here." He said in a raspy dark voice. He put the cigarette on his lips and lit it, taking a drag before handing it to me.

"Thanks." I sighed in relief and took a long, big drag.

He watched my every move, he stared me up and down. He seemed really sweet for a guy named Dal.

"What's a girl like you still doing here?" He questioned sitting on the bench, putting his hands behind his head, yet making sure he could still see me.

I slowly looked at him and sighed, "I was just tryna get home."

I sat next to him and took an even bigger puff from the cigarette. "Hey, what's your name?." He took the cigarette from my fingers and smoked the rest of it.

"Rachel." I said and he looked into my eyes and they softened.

He nodded and looked away, looking like his face was getting red.

Seeing the sunrise was peaceful. it made my anxiety go away since all i could think about was my parents finding out i was gone.

"Is your name really Dal?" i fiddled with my hands looking over at him and the corners of his mouth crept up on his face, showing a soft smile.

"It's Dallas. They call me that as a nickname." he said throwing the cigarette butt into the grass and turned to face me. "You really aren't as mean as you look" i said, he forced a chuckle and looked down.

"Well then you really don't know me, do ya?" he sounded really upset and kept looking down and I didn't know what to say. "I think you should go" he lastly said before going back inside and slamming the door.

What the fuck? The fuck did I do to him?!

I scoffed and walked away, I eventually found my house and remembered the root I came from.

I didn't wanna go through the front door so I climbed in the window that was gonna be my room for then next couple years.

I kept thinking about what happened between him and I.

Who does he think he is?
