**********
With concentration, we do our separate jobs in silence. Francis cooks and I prep the ingredients.
"Hey you're pretty good at cooking" I say to break the silence.
"Thanks. You aren't half bad either"
What is making me more nervous is whether or not I should bring up the "dating" thing. Argh! I'm just gonna go for it.
"Um.. about the dating thing" I timidly say.
"What about it?" He says nonchalantly.
"Are you serious or were you joking?" I managed to breathe out.
"Serious."
"So..? That means..."
"Yeah. We're dating. It's a win-win situation anyways."
"Uhuh", I nervously comment. What the heck is uhuh? Makes me seem like I'm all cool with it but I'm not. How can I be? Greg was the only person I had and right after him, I'm dating Francis? What's up with that? Is fate playing with me?
Scared to turn around, I just continue to chop the carrot in front of me. I could hear Francis fiddling and moving around making me anxious.
I could feel a presence behind me but I'm sure it was just in my mind. A strong arm wraps around my shoulders and another wraps around my waist, pulling me into a hard surface.
I let out a tiny squeal and my whole body just froze.
"What's wrong? Continue chopping", Francis says next to my ear in a low husky voice, his breath tickling me.
"U-uh r-right o-o-okay" I stammer, hand shaking, trying to cut a decent piece without screwing up. At this point my heart was about to fly out.
"Why so nervous?" He says softly. Without even looking, I knew he had his smirk on "This is normal if we're dating."
"I-I'm not n-nervous. R-r-right. This is n-normal if were d-dating."
I hear a small laugh coming from my ear and I could feel his body slightly shaking against my back.
The arms let go and all I could hear was Francis laughing.
"What?" I turn to say with my face flushed. So mean.
"T-too funny AHAHA Y-you are too c-cute HAHAHAHA" He barely manages to say.
Cute? My heart beats faster at his comment.
I turn to finish chopping the carrot. Carrot was a reason to turn back around but the other was the fact my face was heating up from embarrassment.
"But seriously, we'll be doing those kind of things since we're dating." Francis explains as he returns to cooking.
"I still don't get how this is beneficial for you?" I place the carrots into the pan for Francis to fry.
"Like I said, I have my reasons."
There it is again. The feeling of a wall between us. I felt slightly disappointed but I just brushed it off.
That evening, I finished having dinner with Francis & siblings and then he drove me home.
"Thanks" I say, twiddling my fingers.
"Hm?"
"For today."
