Chris

What the hell did she mean by 'I don't trust him'.?That honestly rubbed me the wrong way. I didn't know why. Did she think I was going to hurt her or something?

I drove silently with her in the passengers seat and she made no attempt to even look at me. She kept her eyes fixated on the world outside the window and it made me feel uneasy.

Why was she really acting like a bitch? Did she just not remember me? Or was she acting like she didn't remember me?

She was really confident and articulate that day so I doubt she was drunk.

So why was she really playing around?

"Melissa" I called out. She seemed to snap out of her daydream and looked right back at me. "Are you alright?"

"Y...yeah. I am" She said simply. "I am"

"I'm sure neither of us believe that" I joked. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing" She said, not even bothering to turn over to me. I rolled my eyes.

"It's obviously nothing. You're scared of being in the same car with me right now. Apparently, you don't trust me. Right?" I asked. She sighed, slowly turning over to me. Despite the darkness, I could see the fear and uncertainty in her big brown eyes.

It almost made me feel guilty.

I guess I did make her a bit uncomfortable, and I did say some not so gentleman like things to her, but she was the one putting up this whole act like she couldn't remember me when I knew she did.

"Yes I don't trust you. How can I?" She asked. "Since you've met me, all you've done is stare at me like I'm a piece of meat"

Well, she wasn't wrong there.

"Well, I'm sorry about that. You're just... enchanting. Plus our last encounter was cut short when you..."

I was interrupted by the sound of her ringing phone. She shushed me as she picked it up.

"Hi Eds..." She greeted as I swore silently under my breath.

Fuck. Eddie.

She was most likely gonna tell Eddie that I was bringing her home. That would totally affect my plans of sleeping with her.

Oh fuck.

I couldn't help but let out the groan from my lips while she chatted away with Eddie. Out of all the girls in the world, why did she have to be friends with Eddie? Why?

"Yeah Chris will bring me home safely... hopefully" She said one last time before ending the call. I huffed.

"Does Eddie always check in on you?" I spat out, unable to hide my disgust.

"Uh... yeah. We're best friends" She said, brushing me off.

"Actually I'm his best friend"

"Whatever you say big guy" She said, in a tone which showed that she wanted to end the conversation. I sighed as I kept driving along.

"I'm sorry for how I acted at the party." I apologized. "And I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable"

"It's alright" She said passively, not even bothering to look at me.

"Is that all you're gonna say?" I asked, unable to hide the displeasure in my voice. She said nothing else, as she continued starting outside the window.

I could feel the anger boiling up inside me. Why was this girl acting like such a bitch?

"Okay, you know what...?" I decided to pull over the car.
