"Good morning Zaharos!! It's 7:00 and the sun is shining brightly. The sky is clear and there is no wind. What a perfect summer day! But then, it's not summer anymore! First day of school today and..."
"What's that noise?" asked Elpinix with a yawn.
"This is Zaharos' radio station. I have hoped to cheer you up a little but apparently it did not work." answered Rectangle. The radio transmission stopped.
"It would be preferable to arrive on time for your first day at Earth-school," Rectangle advised and, predictably, the teenagers ignored her.
"What do we have for breakfast? I'm starving!" asked Elpinix jumping out of her bed.
"I have prepared pancakes for this special occasion."
"What are puncakes?" asked Antonio slightly concerned.
A very detailed explanation as to what are pancakes, the definition, origin of the word and when they were first made with additional information on how people make pancakes and how she (Rectangle) manage to make pancakes when she couldn't go to the supermarket to buy the ingredients followed. (I am obviously not going to tell you what she said.)
"Where did you find this information?" asked Axel, now wide awake. The speech seemed to have the opposite effect on Elpinix. While before she felt energised enough to climb a mountain, now she was almost sleeping on the floor.
"I have searched Earth's network for information on human life."(Now I would like to play with time a little bit. Skipping fifteen earth minutes)
"This is delicious!" said Axel after tasting the pancakes.
"I don't like it," said Antonio pushing his plate away.
"I will eat that," exclaimed Elpinix, taking Antonio's plate.
(Skipping half an hour. Wait... no... Skipping forty minutes. I LOVE skipping minutes!)
The bell rings and the three aliens have to part. Axel is one year older than Elpinix and Antonio, so he had to go to another classroom. He wasn't paying attention to where he was going, he was thinking of Arkateles. He couldn't say that he didn't miss his planet. All Arkatelians were like family to him and his mother would be worrying sick even if she knew that he was perfectly safe on Earth. He was absorbed in his thoughts and so was the person that bumped into him.
"Watch where you're-" he started but then recognised the person in front of him.
"-Oooh, Axel! How're you man?""Good morning Dean," Axel replied, only then remembering that he didn't know where the classroom was. "Do you know where our classroom is?"
"Yeah, wanna come with me?"
"Yes, thanks," answered Axel and followed.
A young teacher greeted them with a smile. She was a little bit shorter than average and quite beautiful.
"Dean!!" she said in exasperation. "You are five minutes late and this is the first day of school!"
"I was helping Axel here to find the classroom."
"Good morning, Axel! You are new to the school, right?"
"Yes. We came here only two days ago."
"Choose a seat. Not you Dean. You come at the front!" she ordered. Dean was indeed trying to find a seat as far away from the teacher as possible.
"We have a lot of new students this year!" she said looking excitedly at the class. "My classroom has never been so full! Good morning all! I am Mrs Calliope and I am responsible for your class. I will also be teaching you maths! Now I would like you to say your names and something about yourself so that we will get to know each other better."
