Raven Buckley- Diaz = 14

Raven Buckley-Diaz had always been a bright and cheerful girl, but things had changed since she started at her new school a few months ago. Her dads, Eddie Diaz and Evan Buckley, were proud of her for adjusting well, or so they thought. They didn't realize that beneath her cheerful facade, Raven was struggling with something far darker.

At her new school, Raven had fallen in with a group of friends who were anything but friendly. They constantly picked on her, telling her she was fat and that no one loved her because of it. These hurtful words cut deep, and Raven, desperate for acceptance, began to believe them.

One day at lunch, Raven sat down with her tray of food, trying to ignore the gnawing voice in her head that echoed her friends' cruel words. Just as she was about to take a bite, her so-called friends approached her.

"Are you seriously going to eat that?" one of them sneered, looking at her tray with disdain.

"Yeah, no wonder you're so fat," another added, laughing cruelly.

Raven's hand froze, and she felt her face flush with embarrassment. She pushed her tray away, the food untouched, and mumbled something about not being hungry. The rest of the day, she couldn't concentrate on her classes. Their words played over and over in her mind, and she vowed to skip dinner that night.

At home, Eddie and Buck didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. They were busy with their routines, and Raven's small appetite didn't seem like a red flag. After all, teenagers were known for their fluctuating eating habits.

A few days later, Raven's friends came over to hang out. Eddie and Buck were both out working late, so it was just the kids at home. After a while, Raven felt comfortable enough to grab a snack, thinking her friends might have moved on from their earlier comments. But as soon as she took a bite, they turned on her again.

"Seriously? You're eating again?" one of them said, rolling her eyes.

"You should just get it over with and go to the bathroom now," another said, a smirk on her face.

Raven felt the sting of their words. She tried to protest, but they were relentless. They grabbed her arms and dragged her to the bathroom, forcing her to kneel in front of the toilet.

"Do it," they demanded. "You don't want to be fat, do you?"

Tears streamed down Raven's face as she obeyed. Afterward, she felt a deep sense of shame and worthlessness. Her friends laughed it off, acting as if nothing had happened, but the experience left a scar on Raven's heart.

As the weeks went by, Raven's behavior became more erratic. She skipped meals whenever she could and made herself sick when she couldn't avoid eating. Her body began to show the signs of her unhealthy habits. She became pale and tired, but Eddie and Buck were too caught up in their own busy lives to notice the drastic change.

One evening, after dinner, Buck walked past the bathroom and heard the unmistakable sound of someone being sick. His heart sank as he realized it was Raven. She had excused herself right after dinner, claiming she had homework to finish. Buck knocked on the door gently.

"Raven, are you okay in there?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.

"I'm fine, Dad," Raven replied, her voice weak and shaky. "Just a little queasy from dinner, I guess."

Buck frowned, but didn't press further. "Okay, sweetie. Let us know if you need anything."

Raven's younger brother, Christopher, had also noticed her strange behavior. He was very perceptive for his age, and he loved his sister dearly. One day, he walked in on her in the bathroom, just as she was making herself sick. He stood frozen for a moment, unsure of what to do.
