It was June when it started. It was summer time and Hot shot woke up. In one month he was going to be five years old. Hot shot was very excited about it too. Because this was going to the first birthday he was going to have as part of a family. Hot shot woke up this morning and saw the sun was up and shining. "It's morning," Hot shot said. Hot shot was looking forward to having a good day. However Hot shot noticed something. His head was hurting. It felt like a really dull ache too. "Ow, that hurts," he said. He knew his new mother was a nurse and maybe she could help. Hot shot came up to Quickshadow. "Mommy my head hurts," Hot shot said.

"I am sorry to hear that," Quickshadow said. "Feel anything else besides a sore head?" she asked.

"My tummy hurts," Hot shot answered. He noticed it was hurting this morning along with his head.

Quickshadow got out some children's Tylenol. "This should help with your headache," Quickshadow said pouring the proper dose into a cup. Then handed it to Hot shot.

Hot shot drank the medicine from the cup. Then he gave the cup to his mother. "Here," Hot shot said.

"Very good Hot shot," Quickshadow said.

"Thanks mommy," Hot shot said.

"No problem, it should start working soon," Quickshadow said. Then she gave him some water and crackers to help with his sore stomach.

Hot shot threw up a bit later. Hot shot wasn't really expecting that he wasn't too happy about it either. "Ugh." Hot shot said.

"Don't worry that sometimes happens," Quickshadow told him.

Hot shot got settled on the couch to rest. Hot shot's headache wasn't going away all day. The medicine was not working at all. Hot shot was in pain still. "Mommy my head still hurts," Hot shot said.

"I am sorry," Quickshadow said.

Hot shot went to bed with his head still hurting. Hot shot wasn't too happy about this and not feeling well at all.

Over the next several days Hot shot still had a horrible headache. His headache was a like a dull pressure almost like a fizzy bottle that had been shaken up too much. The pain could also be a throbbing kind of pain too at times. Sometimes the pain would get very sharp all of the sudden. Hot shot wasn't too happy about that. "My head hurts!" Hot shot would complain on a regular basis. His parents heard that and were worried about it. They were wondering what they could do about it. This was very worrisome for them and they were not sure what was wrong.

Hot shot was also vomiting still. Hot shot was getting sick often and his parents were unsure what was wrong and why he was feeling so sick. They saw he seemed to be throwing up at least once a day. They found it to be very strange.

Hot shot was also having abnormal eye movements. Hot shot's eyes were moving all weird. Hot shot was also having double vision and having trouble seeing properly because of it. His parents found it to be very strange.

Hot shot was very tired and not having the energy he normally had. Because he was normally a very active child and seeing him not be so active was very worrisome. They were wondering why he wasn't running around as much.

Hot shot's neck was also very stiff and sore. Hot shot found it hard to turn his head. His neck was so painful.

Hot shot was walking kind of funny. He was walking with a weird gait and his parents were wondering why he wasn't walking normally it was very strange to see. Hot shot was also falling down a lot. It was like his sense of balance went out the window. Hot shot was very frustrated by this and wasn't happy at all.

Hot shot's coordination was also going away. Hot shot was having a lot of trouble being able to catch, throw and kick things. Hot shot couldn't understand it at all. Hot shot was getting very upset about this but he was also feeling bad too. His parents were very confused.
