Months ago, during a business trip, Mr. Lee (Y/n's dad) struck up a friendship with Mr. Kim. Over casual conversations, Mr. Lee mentioned his daughter 'y/n' , and Mr. Kim talked about his son 'Taehyung'. Both men held their businesses in high regard, perhaps even more than their own children, leading them to discuss the idea of arranging a marriage between their offspring. Mr. Kim was a well-known businessman in town, Mr. Lee, though successful, was not as prominent. Mr. Lee saw an excellent opportunity to advance his business and quickly agreed to the marriage proposal.

At Lee's place ~

Upon returning home,
Mr. Lee wasted no time in issuing instructions to get ready for meeting Mr. Kim's family for marriage. Y/n doesn't want to get married now, wants to finish studies first, get a job and make her own choices. But Mr. Lee insists, saying she must marry into the Kim family, for their benifits or face consequences. Y/n pleads not to force, but Mr. Lee ignores, sarcastically mentioning the matter of his mother running away with another man and he doesn't care about Y/n's life and only cares about benefits from the marriage and told her to get ready quickly.

At Kim's place ~

Taehyung's parents really want him to get married. They think it's time for him to settle down and find someone special and as Taehyung's parents are actually planning to go abroad to manage their business. They won't be here with him, and they're worried about him being alone. That's why they think it's a good idea for him to get married. They want him to have someone by his side while they're away. Taehyung wasn't sure at first, but he wants to make his parents happy. So, he agreed to meet Mr. Lee's daughter. But then, some important meetings came up and he couldn't make it to meet y/n . He told his parents to go without him and if they like her, then he's okay with it too.

At y/n's place~

Taehyung's parents arrive there. Y/n and Mr. Lee greeted Mr. and Mrs. Kim, which impresses the Kims a lot. Mr.Kim and his wife really like y/n because of her kind and humble nature. In the midst of conversation, y/n asks Mr. Kim if she can complete her studies after marriage. Upon hearing this, y/n's father gets angry and starts thinking about Kims cancelling the marriage with them. However, Mr. Kim replies that y/n can complete her studies even after marriage and eventually she will have to contribute to the Kim company as well. Hearing this, y/n becomes happy and agrees to the marriage as she can complete her studies and also escape from Mr. Lee's beatings and his abusive behaviour.

After the marriage ~

Y/n is filled with mixed emotions. She's excited about starting a new chapter in her life with the Kims but also worried whether Taehyung would be happy with her because Mrs. Kim mentioned that Taehyung has a cold nature. As she arrives at the Kim house, she is greeted warmly by Mr. and Mrs. Kim.

When y/n finally gets a chance to speak with Taehyung alone, she musters up the courage to ask him about her studies,
Y/n : “ Taehyung...Mr. Kim told me that i could continue my studies and- ” but gets interrupted by Taehyung to get the coldest and hardest reply...
Taehyung : “Dad's words were all a lie.. don't dream too much .”

Kim's Family have different expectations for her , they want her to focus solely on her role as a wife and future responsibilities. Y/n's heart sinks as she realizes that her dreams of continuing her studies may be slipping away. She feels torn between her own aspirations and expectations.
