I was confused on Hange's remark about Levi, this probably explained why he was so quiet all the time, just a lack of energy. But even so, I decided to try a text him.

You: hey levi are u ok?
Levi: yup
You: are u sure?
Levi: yup
You: ok well goodnight :)

Ugh this was actually painful. He was one of those people that actually took years off my life when talking to, just because of how excruciatingly dry they are. I was about to head to sleep with my boyfriend messaged me. He went to another school, as did most of my friends as when it came to high school my parents decided to move me to a further school, away from everyone I knew. Most people however, I had lost contact with. I only spoke to my current boyfriend, Porco, some of his friends and Jean, Sasha and Connie. Other than that, people like Eren, Mikasa and Armin I rarely spoke to.

You: yeah i am are u okay?
Porco🤍: Yeah i'm fine how was ur first day back at school?
You: it was ok i guess but i finally found myself a fg🥳
Porco🤍: Really?? That's so good who is it?
You: Hange levi erwin and moblit ☝🏼
Porco🤍: a lot of boys don't u think?
You: uh idrk i mean there r more boys than girls but hange is the one i'm closest to and i did just meet them all so u don't have to be worried
Porco🤍: hm well i don't really want u hanging out w them but i guess there's nothing i can do.
You: i'm just happy that i have an actual friendship group now
Porco🤍: yh same.
You: anyways im really tired so im going to try and get some sleep now i love you ❤️

Fucks sake. Porco was in one of his moods again. He was a good boyfriend, but really only when he wanted to be. I don't know exactly why I'm still with him, but he does love me so I guess that counts towards something. Hange does hate his guts about how he's treated me over the past two years, but I've always trusted myself over the girl who hasn't been in a relationship since 3rd Grade. And I guess he can be a bit controlling but that might just be because he doesn't like the fact we don't go to the same school. Either way I still put up with it. It's not like I see myself marrying him anyways.

I woke up the next day feeling genuinely refreshed for once. I decided that today I would put a bit more effort into my appearance, and whilst I wasn't necessarily insecure, I thought that if I felt good then I should look good. I added a few extra steps to my simple makeup routine and curled my hair to the best of my ability.
Hange picked me up at the normal time and immediately complimented my hair.
"Wow! Y/N?? I had no idea that you were good at this sorta stuff! You have to teach me one day - I'm starting to get sick of this." She pointed to the scruffy ponytail on her head.
"Yeah of course!" I exclaimed.
"Anyways it's our first science lesson back today, and who knows, we all might be lucky enough to be in the same class! Although I heard our professor is already setting us a partner for a upcoming project."
"Oh wonderful. I can't wait for that, you know we JUST came back, why is he already setting us work?" I complained.
"I know right? It sucks!"

Science rolled around in 4th period, and Hange predicted it all right- we all were in the same class. I took my seat at the back next to Hange as Professor was nice enough to let us choose our seating plan this year.
"Okay okay, everyone settle down. I've decided for your project over the next few weeks is going to be a presentation on the anatomy of plants and animals. I'm going to read out your partners in just a second." the professor introduced.
"Ugh really?? He wants us to do a presentation at least make it about something interesting?" I whispered to Hange.
"For real." she whispered back whilst the professor began his list.
"Hange Zoë and Moblit Berner"
"Erwin Smith and Nile Dok"
"Oh that wont be good, Erwin and Nile don't really like each other." Hange lowered her voice.
"Really? Why not?"
"Long story."
"Levi Ackerman and Y/N L/N."
Well, it wasn't awful, but wasn't ideal either. I wouldve been happy with anyone out of our group, however this whole project was based of teamwork and team effort, something that Levi just didn't really seem very good at. I was worried about this, yet optimistic as it might give me a chance to breakthrough with him. My professor set us off with a task, which gave me and Hange to talk a little.
"So Y/N, Levi's a good partner don't you think?" Hange enquired.
"Yeah I guess so, but it all depends on whether he wants to talk to me or not."
"I could ask how he feels, but I can't promise any good will come of it."
"What is his deal Hange? Like why is he so revered and secretive."
"Well he really isn't. He puts this front on that he's all cold and mysterious but within his walls he's actually really caring and loyal. It does take a while to break through to him though. Just trust the process Y/N."
"Yeah well what if I don't ever "break through to him"?"
"Don't worry, I'm sure it'll happen at some point. Just keep on putting in that effort and hopefully he will lighten up around you."
"He has so much potential like, he's funny when he does speak and he's, i'm not going to lie, pretty attractive. He could really be popular if he put himself out there."
"Yeah no matter what, Levi will never mix himself with that group. He DESPISES Zeke Jaeger with a burning passion."
"Why's that?"
"Oh well Erwin and Levi have known each other since elementary school, and from what I've been told, Zeke hit Erwin with a rock and Levi's held a grudge ever since and vowed to Erwin he would get his revenge. He has not since got any revenge."
I laughed at this, because how could Levi be holding an almost 10 year grudge? I guess it really showed his loyalty to his friends.
"Anyways, I've organised a hangout round mine tonight, you coming?"
"Oh yeah definitely!"
"Great!"
