Chapter 6: Shinobi Kumite

Heading back to training ground and cast her pocket weapon aside, Yugao laid herself down and gaze up to the sky enjoying the peaceful breeze washed over her skin. At the back of her brain, she did admitted this area was somehow different than other places in terms of its harmonic and quiet surrounding.

"No wonder he chose here to read his pervey book during their bell test". Yugao smiled before slowly closing her eyes only to open it back after hearing footsteps approaching her.

"Sandaime?I thought you already left". She spoke half eyes closed.

"Yes, and I might as well caught you slacking off while others on duty young lady". Her eyes fluttered open as she sensed the differences in his voice.

Yugao immediately frowned as she saw Kakashi stared down at her. "Oh not you again". She mumbled under her breathe.

Little by little Yugao started to feel annoyed with Kakashi's asshole's attitude until at some point she wishes the years speed up same goes with Kakashi's character development in original anime itself.

'Can't wait to see his silly and goofy side'. Small smirk curled up at the corner of her lips.

'Unlike his current state'... Kakashi just stayed silent and watched the girl sat up on grass lazily.

"What do you want? I thought you already enjoyed yourself failing those kids earlier". She yawned. "And now you want to fail my sleeping plan"?

He sighed before stepping back a little. "I was thinking to read my book here but... Looks like you've taken my favourite spot".

Right. Yugao immediately stood up and pat her black jeans. "Sorry for stealing your spot. I'll leave now. Enjoy your reading session Kakashi".

He watched her slowly leave. "Mind be my sparring partner"?

Yugao's heartbeat increased. All of a sudden? Does he enjoy bully her that much?

She slowly tilted her head towards him with annoyed expression written all over her face. "You surely love using me as your punch bag is that it"?

The man blinked in confusion. What kind of Kakashi imaginary version she created inside her head?

He had no business in picking up unnecessary fight with someone... Especially with a girl.

Perhaps Kakashi does all this time is doubting her so called special treatment given by Sandaime but still, that shouldn't be a reason for him to resent a shinobi just like him.

He watched Yugao patting her pants and closed their distance. Her actions managed to make the masked guy blushed but luckily, his cheeks were covered with mask.

"Go ahead and punch". She ordered causing Kakashi to flinch a bit and replied stuttering at her.

"Th-That's not what I truly mean". He tried to show dominance and maintain their eye contacts.

"I was talking about 'Shinobi Kumite'. You know that term"? His voice slowly turns back to normal reflecting his calm and collected behavior.

This caused Yugao to shut her mouth and take some time to recall his words again. 'Wait I've heard of it before'.

Her mind instantly flashed one of the best 'shinobi kumite' in the original anime. The scene of Kakashi and Obito's fight in Naruto shippuden during war arc replay inside her head.

'Ah... That one. A ninja's tradition, 'shinobi kumite' also known as 'hand to hand combat'.... To show respects towards your opponent. It also included in a sign of 'bond' or 'acknowledgement' of the other side'.
