TW: This book will involve violence. I am not sure how much at the moment, but please use caution if you do not tolerate violence well.
She opened the front door slowly, her eyes wide when she saw two men dressed in all black.
"Olivia Wilson?" One spoke, as he pulled out a badge and flipped it open.
"Who are you?" Olivia questioned.
"We are special agents with the United States government. We received a tip regarding your husband. Is he in?"
"H-hugo is at work. You can't be here," Olivia breathed, as tears burned her eyes.
"Mrs. Wilson-"
"Come in, but be quiet," Olivia spoke, quickly stepping back and letting the men into her house. After locking the door, Olivia turned to face them as her hands shook.
"Mrs. Wilson, your husband is wanted for drug-related charges. He is also a person of interest in several murders," an agent spoke.
"W-what? I only reported Hugo because I found drugs in the basement where our daughters could have found them. Are you sure you have the right person?" Olivia questioned, her voice shaking.
Hugo wasn't the best husband or father, but she didn't expect him to be a criminal. That he could have murdered people and whatever the drug-related charges entailed.
"You reported your husband?"
"Why do you sound surprised? My daughters are little and very curious. The last thing I wanted was for one of them to find the drugs and overdose. By the next morning, the drugs were gone."
"Ma'am, I don't think you know who you are married to. Hugo Wilson is a very powerful man, and you are in danger."
"Danger? Hugo wouldn't hurt me or the girls. Can you please leave us alone?" Olivia replied nervously. She was so confused by everything that she didn't want to talk to these strangers without questioning her husband herself.
"Please take our cards... If your husband threatens your life or the life of your daughters, give us a call. We can get you out."
"Out?! Do you think Hugo is as bad as you make him seem?!" Olivia huffed. She wasn't angry with the agents, but didn't want to show them her fear. Hugo may hurt her and the girls, but she was going to try her hardest to prevent that.
"Trust us when we say that he has blood on his hands."

Hugo got home late that night, and Olivia was disappointed. She had taken the day off of work to decorate the house and bake her husband a birthday cake. The girls wrapped gifts and made him cards, but by the time he got home, Rory and Macie were sleeping and Olivia was exhausted.
"What's all this?" Hugo asked, as he tossed his jacket onto the recliner and looked at his wife. Olivia leaned back against the sofa as she raked her fingers through her hair.
"Happy Birthday, babe," Olivia frowned.
"Oh, yeah. Thanks," Hugo sighed. Over eight years ago, Hugo got pissed off when Olivia didn't go all out for his birthday because she was four weeks postpartum with their eldest daughter. Ever since she tried her hardest to always decorate and get him lots of gifts.
"Why were you so late? Rory and Macie were waiting up for you, but you never showed," Olivia breathed.
"I was at work."
"It's midnight, Hugo. Why were you at work so late? Because you seem to spend more time at work these days than you do here," Olivia replied, as she stood and crossed her arms.
"If it wasn't for my job, we wouldn't have this nice life. The girls would be going to public school and you'd be working more than your stupid cop job," Hugo snapped.
"My stupid cop job makes good money, and don't act like it doesn't. You let our girls down by not showing up today, and I'm tired of trying to cover for you. Step up or lose us," Olivia warned.
"You aren't going anywhere, Olivia," Hugo said with an evil smile.
"Really? Are you going to kill me or something?" Olivia huffed. The moment she said those words, she regretted it. This was not how she wanted to question her husband about the accusations against him.
"Do you want me to kill you? Because I'd happily do it because you piss me off! God, can't you fucking lay off? All I want is a wife that keeps her mouth shut and fucks me when I want! Not some woman that works and bitches at me all the time!" Hugo yelled, before shoving his wife back onto the couch.
Olivia stood quickly as her face grew hot with anger.
"Were you sleeping with someone else tonight or just selling drugs and murdering people?" Olivia spat.
Hugo faltered for a moment as he processed the words that his wife said.
"What did you say?"
"Nevermind. We had steak for dinner and you have a plate in the fridge. Sorry about your birthday cake. The girls wanted some since we worked so hard on it," Olivia replied, before stomping away.
The moment Olivia shut her bedroom door, she felt ill. She had told her husband too much, and now she had a target on her back.

Olivia was awake all night in fear that her husband would kill her in her sleep. When she finally climbed out of bed, Hugo was at work or whatever the hell he does. Olivia got her girls up for the day and to school before calling the agents.
"Agent Danson," the man answered.
"It's Olivia Wilson," Olivia replied softly.
"Mrs. Wilson, did you have a change of heart?"
"I think my husband wants to kill me," Olivia whispered.
"What happened?"
"We got into a fight when he got home, and I said more than I meant to... I think he knows I'm more aware of what he does... Can you get me and my daughters somewhere safe?"
"Olivia, if we do this, there is no going back. You will be placed in Witness Protection and be forced to live a different life. Your home will never be your home again. Do you understand that?" Agent Danson spoke as Olivia leaned against her car in the middle of nowhere.
"I understand, sir. My daughters and I will be killed if we stay any longer. Tell me what I need to do."
