Olivia reached out to Elliot and squeezed his hand when he reached her bedside. Olivia felt so bad that she scared Elliot, but things like this happen. Good people get hurt constantly, and she was just thankful she made it out of that coffee shop alive.

"I'm going to be okay, Elliot. I have a few more scars, but it's fine... I'm fine," Olivia breathed, her fingers slipping between his. Elliot looked down at their joined hands before meeting Olivia's eyes.

"I haven't known you for long, but I can't imagine life without you," Elliot whispered, a tear slipping down his cheek. Olivia gently rubbed the tear away with the pad of her thumb, before leaning close and pressing a soft kiss to the corner of his mouth.

Her lips moved from the corner of his mouth to his lips, as Elliot's arms looped around her waist and tugged her close. Olivia let out a loud whimper as she placed a hand on Elliot's chest and pushed him back.

"Liv, are you okay?" Elliot asked, his eyes growing wide.

"Y-Yeah, I'm okay. Just got shot a few times and kinda forgot," Olivia replied with a shaky breath.

"Where did you get shot?" Elliot asked as he slipped off the bed and adjusted Olivia's pillows.

"The right side of my abdomen, right above my hip. Then my right thigh... If he wanted me dead, he should've practiced his aim," Olivia laughed weakly.

Elliot pushed the blankets off of Olivia's legs and looked at the bandage that was stained with red, before unbuttoning the side of her gown and looking at the bandage on her stomach. Olivia felt her cheeks grow rosy, since Elliot hadn't seen this much of her body before.

"You are going to have a few gnarly scars, Liv. Are they admitting you?" Elliot asked as he locked eyes with Olivia.

"I think so, but not for a while. The people with worse injuries are going to get admitted before me."

Elliot sank onto the edge of Olivia's bed and caressed her hair for a long moment as he looked at her. If something happened, he wanted to remember what she looked like. Elliot went to lean in for another kiss when his fingers stopped at the back of Olivia's head.

"Are you okay?" Olivia asked since Elliot's face was covered in concern.

"You have a scar on the back of your head. What-"

"Benson? Are you up for visitors?" Cragen asked as he opened the door without knocking. Olivia quickly turned from Elliot and nodded.

"Yes, sir. I'm sorry about scaring you all, but I'm going to survive."

Olivia got moved upstairs later that night and she tried to fall asleep. It took a while to calm down and get comfy, but it didn't last. The door to her room opened, and the lights flicked on.

"I told you to stay out of trouble, but you don't listen," Agent Danson spoke as he walked to Olivia's bed.

"I'm trying to sleep, Agent Danson," Olivia yawned as she rubbed her eyes.

"Okay, but we need to discuss what happened today."

"What happened is an asshole came into a coffee shop and shot not only me but several civilians. I subdued him and he got arrested."

"Do you know who it was?" Agent Danson asked.

"No, I don't."

"Could he have been someone who works for Hugo?" He asked, as Olivia slowly pushed herself up.

"What?" she questioned, her eyes filling with fear.

"Olivia-"

"Do you think he tracked me down and tried to get me killed?!" Olivia demanded, her eyes flooding with tears.

"Hey, it's okay. We are going to help investigate this to ensure it wasn't a hit, but you are okay," Agent Danson replied, as he slowly moved to the top of bed and squeezed Olivia's shoulder.

"This is the second time I could've died in the last year, and I don't want both times to be because of Hugo..." Olivia whispered.

"From what we have heard, I don't think he knows where you are. He might think you dragged yourself out of the house and died, but we don't think he knows you are here."

"T-The girls?"

"Olivia, you know I can't tell you."

"Please tell me. I was just shot and should get some sort of reward for taking down a bad guy," Olivia whispered. She hated asking for things from Agent Danson and Agent Ford, but she needed to know what was happening with her girls.

Agent Danson let out a deep sigh as he pulled his phone out and scrolled through something. He turned the phone to face Olivia, and she let out a whimper when she saw her daughters. Macie and Rory looked so good, but their hair was much shorter than she liked keeping it. The girls were running around a park with Hugo's mother, who didn't realize someone was taking pictures of her and the girls.

"They look healthy and happy," Olivia whispered as tears slipped down her cheeks.

"They would be happier with you, but that can't happen."

"Not even if you arrest Hugo?" Olivia sniffled.

"We would have to take the girls and put them into protection with you. You'd have to leave here and start over completely."

"It would be weird for lonely Detective Benson to have two kids dropped on her lap. She doesn't deserve to be happy," Olivia snapped.

"Hey-"

"No, go away," Olivia whimpered.

Agent Danson nodded slowly before walking back towards the door.

"We have agents in the hospital keeping an eye on the situation. We won't be guarding your door, but give me a call if you need me."

"I wish you would've left me on the floor to die. Then I wouldn't feel like this," Olivia whimpered as hot tears streamed down her cheeks.
