Upon landing at JFK, Agent Ford and Agent Greene escorted them back to Olivia's home. Once inside, Olivia put the girls down in her room to sleep before joining everyone else in the living room. Elliot didn't know what to do as he looked at Agent Ford.
"So you work for the government? You didn't own this place before us and were just helping Liv out with stuff? Or were just a neighbor?" Elliot asked as Olivia sank beside him on the sofa.
"Correct. I am one of the two original agents that rescued Olivia. Agent Danson quit because your wife can be very difficult and they got into a fight," Ford smiled. Olivia rolled her eyes as she grabbed Elliot's hand.
"You had to lie about a lot," Elliot frowned as he looked at his wife.
"If I told you the truth, Agent Ford would've moved me in the middle of the night and given me another new identity," Olivia replied.
"So we never would've seen each other again," Elliot whispered.
"Yeah, baby. It would've been like I never existed," Olivia replied softly. Elliot frowned deeply as he wrapped an arm around Olivia's waist and tugged her close.
"I love you," Elliot whispered.
"I love you too."
"This is cute and all, but we need to talk about what the hell you were thinking when you went to Miami and took Maci and Rory," Agent Ford spoke, as he sat on the coffee table.
"I'm sorry, Ford. I had to do something because the case wasn't moving fast enough. Rory and Maci assumed I was dead for the entire year I was gone. He even bought a plot and a headstone that he showed the girls to make them believe I was dead," Olivia frowned. Ford nodded as he looked at Olivia.
"Everything Hugo did was wrong, but you could get in big trouble for breaking into Hugo's home and taking the girls without permission."
"I shouldn't have to get permission when I still have custody of my own daughters," Olivia replied firmly.
"You are Olivia Benson now. That is your identity. Taking Rory and Maci Wilson is illegal since you are not the same woman on their birth certificates. Olivia, we will explain the situation, but I cannot promise you will get out of this easily," Ford frowned. Olivia took a slow breath as tears burned her eyes.
"Keep Elliot out of this, please. He didn't know what was happening until we left to get the girls. If I get arrested and have to serve time in jail, I need Elliot to take care of my girls. Barbara may be a good grandmother sometimes, but she is a drunk that knows exactly what Hugo was doing."
Ford went to speak again, but stopped when the front door opened. Everyone turned to see Bernie standing there. Olivia had forgotten that she asked Bernie to water their plants, and now her mother-in-law was walking into the middle of a complicated situation.
"What are you two doing here? Why aren't you in Florida?" Bernie asked as she looked at the agents suspiciously.
"Ma, things changed, and we had to come home early. If you want to go home, we can water the plants," Elliot spoke.
"What's wrong? Who are these men?" Bernie asked.
"These are-" Olivia started, but Agent Ford stopped her.
"Mrs. Stabler, I'm Agent Ford and this is Agent Greene. We work for the government and have been taking care of Olivia while she has been in the Witness Protection Program," Ford replied. Bernie's eyes went wide with the news. She tried to process it but was still confused. Her confusion grew when Rory walked from the back room and rubbed her eyes.
"Mama, I'm hungry," Rory yawned.
"Who is this?" Bernie asked. Elliot looked at his wife before back at his mother.
"Ma, this is Rory and there is another little girl in our room named Maci. They are Olivia's daughters with her abusive ex. We went to Florida on our honeymoon to rescue them, and the kind agents are here to help us figure out what is going to happen next."

Elliot and Olivia slept on an air mattress on the living room floor. Maci and Rory had been sleeping on and off all day, but Olivia and Elliot couldn't even fall asleep after being awake for over twenty-four hours.
"If I go to prison, I need you to take good care of my girls. They have been through hell and don't need to go into the system," Olivia whispered, her fingers running over Elliot's bare chest. He placed his hand over hers and nodded slowly.
"I promise, Liv. Maci and Rory will be loved and well taken care of," Elliot whispered back.
"I'm so sorry that I brought you into this mess. I could've gotten you killed along with my girls... I just know they are better off with us. With two parents that love each other and don't sell drugs and kill people for a living," Olivia whimpered as tears slipped down her cheeks.
Elliot quickly rolled over and drew Olivia into a tight hug. He pressed kisses to her bruised face before rubbing her back gently.
"We aren't dead though, Liv. You did your best to protect us, and you are the only one who ended up hurt in the end. Ford and Greene won't allow you to go to prison. Things are complicated and any judge will see that you were just trying to save your girls from a very bad man," Elliot breathed.
"I'm so scared to see what will happen," Olivia whispered.
"Me too, but we will be fine. I still want to have kids with you and spend the rest of my life as your husband."
