Shruti

"Yes?" He encouraged me as three of them looked at me expectantly.

"How about we work on the impact of gravity in the growth of life in extra-terrestrial regions?" I suggested, meekly trying to judge their reactions to my proposal.

After a brief pause of contemplation, Sidharth Sir replied, "That's great. We can work on the effects of microgravity in the microbial growth in extra-terrestrial regions. Sounds intriguing too."

"Yes, we should do a background check and then, get to research on this matter." All the other team leaders nodded.

"You are so brilliant, Shruti. That's such an innovative idea." All of them appreciated my idea and smiled at me except Sidharth Sir.

"Thank you" I smiled as it was time to get back to our hostels. It was already 9:30 PM.

"We will continue tomorrow at 6." I heard Sidharth Sir declare as he walked out of the lab, removing his lab coat as he checked his cell phone.

"Shruti, you will also get to see him tomorrow. Don't state at him like he is leaving forever." Rishita whispered to me.

"Shut up." I hissed as I hit the back of her head playfully.

"Aree" She whined, rubbing her head as I removed my mask and lab coat and arranged my diary and pens into my bag to leave the lab.

"By the way, I never knew, I am living with a terrific genius." Rishita exclaimed as she hugged me from my backside, hooking her arms on my waist.

"If you get a little free from your sweet boyfriend, then, only you could know." I teased her back as Swetha joined in, laughing.

"That was a good one." Swetha laughed at Rishita's flushed face.

"Hey, not now. We got into a fight last night." She sighed, gloomily.

"Why so?" Swetha piped in soon enough.

"His family is visiting him next week. He wanted me to meet them and pursuade them for our marriage. But, you know, why I can't. So, we had a little fall out." She explained with tired smile.

"Didn't you say him that you are a part of this research team?" I questioned her, softly.

"I did, Shruti." She whispered.

"I told him the situation I am in right now and he says, try to manage for a single day. He doesn't get it even after I said, I can't. Now, he thinks, I am just delaying our marriage. I don't know, why he is adamant this time. It's like, he is not willing to listen." She told us her situation as we tried to console her.

"I've an advice if you are willing to take." We heard Swetha as Rishita nodded at her.

"Come with me." She pulled Rishita with her as they ran towards the students union room, leaving me on my own.

Without any clue, I chose to walk back to our hostel room and change.

In half an hour or so, both of them came into the hostel room with huge grins.

Rishita rushed to hug me as she squealed in delight.

"Sidharth Sir got my leave approved. I'll just complete the calculations and conclusions of my part tomorrow by 10 AM and leave for Mumbai." She expressed as I smiled at her happiness, genuinely.

"I'm so happy for you, Rishita." I patted her back as she nodded. She soon jumped into her bed and started to arrange her dumble bag for tomorrow's short travel.

"I'll just go and inform Prashant." She expressed as she rushed out, making us laugh.

"She is so cute, isn't it?" Swetha replied as I nodded.
