I glared up at him, pissed. Akang'boni yazi uMkhonto. Our eyes remained locked in a fierce duel, both of us silently fighting for dominance. My heart began pounding, nearly out of my chest and it was then that I realised how close to each other we were standing. Our chests were touching, breathing each other's air. Suddenly he leaned down, his nose inches from touching mine. "I may be a gentleman, MaZulu, but if you keep looking at me like that I will disregard everything I said yesterday and fuck you right on the counter. And on the sofa. And the floor. And against the wall and any other surface I can find," he said and I shivered. "So what's stopping you?" I asked hoarsely. "You're daring MaZulu and yet I doubt you could ever satiate my... well sexual appetite," he replied taking a step back . "Why not find out?" I asked and he chuckled. "I'll have the driver take you home," he said. He leaned in, and my chest heaved at the proximity. Damn, he smells so good. He kissed my cheeks tenderly and I closed my eyes, savouring the feeling. "Till the next time we duel, MaZulu," he said and walked out.

"Whiskey sour, please Lwazi," I said throwing myself on to the bar stool. "Must be having a hell of a day," he said preparing it. "You have no idea," I said. It's barely past midday so the club is fairly empty - save for the few creeps who spend the entire day here. "Boyfriend giving you a
problem?" he asked and I scoffed. "What boyfriend?" I asked. "Trouble in paradise already?" he asked handing me the drink. "There is no paradise. I'm not dating Mkhonto," I said taking a sip. "Oh finally a name to the face," he said leaning against the bar. I rolled my eyes and take another sip. "A name I would prefer not to hear again for the rest of the day - actually for the rest of my life," I said. "You sure about that?" he asked looking at something behind me. I turn to see Zethu walking towards us, holding a respectably sized bouquet of red roses. "This just arrived for you," she says handing the Baby Breath surrounded roses to me. "Thanks," I say reading the card.

I'm sorry, but the answer is still no. Dinner at 8?

Despite the question mark. I somehow know it's not really a question. The thought of seeing him makes me smile and my insides churn. Wait... am I falling for this idiot? I look up and catch Lwazi's eye. The flash of a pained look in it makes me sigh.
