Chapter 8

"H-hkk!", Bakugou coughed as he fell to the ground violently. His body rolled roughly in the sand, sending up dust which covered his figure.

He had taken on that big attack from the skeleton monster all on his own.

The only thing he used was his mace to block the attack and it was surprisingly effective; making himself the only casualty who suffered.

He lay half-conscious in the sand, thinking to himself that it felt nice and cold against his body despite the predicament he was in.

"Kacchan?!", it wasn't long before he heard a voice gradually grow close to where he lay.

'That annoying loser...'

"Kacchan!", Deku bent down and turned his body over, helping him sit up,

"Are you alright?!"

During the time Bakugou called him annoying in his mind two more times, the whole group had rushed towards them in concern.

"Move", Bakugou pushed away Deku's hand supporting him and coughed up again.

"..."

Staring at the bright red liquid on his palm, he felt dizzy for a moment.

"Ahahahaha!", the lich was laughing maniacally,

"Serves you right, you bastard!"

He was a little surprised that the attack was repelled by Bakugou alone but he stopped thinking about it when he saw the other look so injured and helpless.

He swinged his intact leg back and forth as if provoking their small party and their powerlessness.

"That rogue!" Iida gritted his teeth, "I'll destroy him right now-!"

"Stop", Todoroki put out a hand and stopped him from acting rashly. His brows were furrowed in anger too but he didn't make any moves yet.

He turned towards Bakugou who was now fully awake; and the other's serious eyes made him calm down a little too.

As someone who knew how to read the atmosphere, he devised that the blonde had the best hang of their current situation. Just the way he had reversed the situation of their fight as soon as he entered, showed how much Todoroki had underestimated him.

Bakugou started when he saw everyone's eyes on him, "That lich bastard is strong..."

Deku's eyes drooped at his words.

"-but not invincible."

"Huh??"

Seeing Deku jerk his head up again, he turned and gave everyone else a serious glance.

"I've got a plan..."

Seeing their teamwork when they fought against the lich under Deku's leadership, Bakugou was a little impressed. They had a tacit understanding with each other and moved as if reading one another's thoughts. It was very rare for different species to even work together but Deku's party had managed to do it so seamlessly.

Their way of fighting inspired him to propose a little idea.

"The skeleton-monster is just a puppet...without the lich its nothing to worry about. So forget that it exists for now", he started explaining to the others.

"Kacchan you should rest..", Deku was still worried about him though, interrupting him halfway,

"We can discuss the escape plan slowly-"

"Who the hell is going to escape?"

"Huh?"

"WE'RE GOING TO KILL THAT LICH BASTARD!"
