Chapter 10

Todoroki didn't think they would find anyone when they reached outside but unexpectedly there was a figure waiting for them outside.

It was none other than the chief commander of the imperial knights, Aizawa.

"Crown prince", he greeted Todoroki as he emerged from the fountain serving as the hidden realm's entrance. Seeing the people following behind him, he nodded in acknowledgement to each of them as well.

"Bakubro!", there was also a red haired beastman standing beside him, running upto Bakugou as soon as he appeared,

"Are you alright??"

Bakugou pushed him back before he could pounce on him and nodded annoyedly, "Why wouldn't I be?"

"But that lich...it was so dangerous to fight him alone!", Kirishima's memory of the hidden realm ended with Bakugou telling him to call the species' elders while he took on the lich on his own,

"I bought help but you disappeared!"

"I didn't disappear you idiot", the blonde gave him a glance, "That attack landed me in another place, that's all."

"Another place? Still! We were all intact but you and the others in the vanguard went missing...it was so scary-"

"You weren't separated?", Bakugou cut him off and narrowed his eyes, "What do you mean you all were alright?"

"Its exactly as he said", Aizawa answered for Kirishima, finally finding a chance to interrupt their conversation and explain the situation, "The attack was in full force when we arrived and because you guys in the front took it head on, there was little to no damage to us who arrived late."

"So it was only us who were separated..", Deku murmured thoughtfully.

"Yes."

"Why didn't you come searching for us then?", Todoroki asked the question in everyone's mind.

Aizawa paused and then sighed as he remembered what had happened,

"The alliance fell apart...those elders from the other species, they all refused to cooperate."

His words undermined the situation by a lot. After all, it wasn't something that could be explained in a few words.

Right after that huge attack, seeing the vast damage it had caused to their surroundings, together with the disappearance of Bakugou and the others; it had made most of them scared out of their minds.

The scene was so chaotic as everyone ran around trying to escape; Aizawa could feel a headache as he recalled it even now.

The lich had tried attacking them too, but hadn't caused much damage before deciding to stop and retreat.

According to what Aizawa deciphered from his expression, it felt like he thought they were too below him to put up a fight. His bored but smug face as he disappeared into the distance had angered Aizawa, but he couldn't do anything about it in the current situation.

'The crown prince and his companions have disappeared....we need to search for them right away', he had said after the situation calmed down a little.

But the elders had other plans. They looked at him with hidden derision and spoke twisted words.

'This mission is too dangerous to continue.'

'It would be best for us to retreat right now, instead of regretting it later.'

'The lich is such a terror..'

Aizawa had narrowed his eyes, the atmosphere reaching a freezing point.
