I didn't know much, but I knew a bomb when I saw one.

I bit my lip and snuck in, ducking behind one of the many pillars that went around the room in a circle. I poked my helm out as they started talking in a different language, the scientist gesturing to the bomb and giving an obvious laugh.

I looked at the diagrams on a board by them, showing a map with a pin in it and then a large red circle drawn around it. That was the freaking blast radius?! It was massive!

Oh scrap! It would take out everyone above us on the surface!

"Hey!" I yelled and ran out without thinking, making the two of them spin around and look at me, the green one shouting. He had a whole bunch of scars on his face and his lips pulled back in a snarl, revealing shark-like teeth.

I gulped and raised my gun, "Get away from that!" I called, "Or I'll shoot!"

They seemed to realize I wasn't going to open fire immediately and both started laughing. "I'm serious!" I shouted and raised it higher but could barely focus with the crosshairs dancing in front of my gaze.

Before I knew it, the green one charged at me. It ducked down as I shot and grabbed my gun, causing the bolts to bury themselves in the ceiling. Sharp claws dug into my side and I screamed, my elbow reflexively coming down and hitting its arm, though it was slow but I just got it.

The organics wrist caught in the plating and as I pulled it back, I heard a sickening snap, followed by an ear-splitting screech. It backed away, holding its arm and snarking at me, absolutely pissed now.

"Oh frag," Was all I could say before the punch connected with my face, denting my cheek. It grabbed my wing and spun me around, throwing me across the room with surprising strength. I cried out when my back hit the control panel.

The blue one screeched at its partner who just ignored him and grabbed my gun which had fallen out of my servos. I coughed and used the metal box to heavily drag myself to my pedes, my face illuminated by the neon lights that lined the inside of the chamber that contained the swirling black mass.

I didn't even think when the shot went off behind me. Something clicked in my processor and by itself, my whole body jerked to the right. Not even a second later, a shot went past, grazing the side of my helm and connecting with the glass cylinder.

The blue organic screeched and took off, his friend soon doing the same as the crack in the glass kept fracturing and growing, creating a web across the surface. The ground started shaking and rocks fell from the ceiling.

It was going to blow.

I yelped and looked around desperately at the panels to see if there was something to stop it but nothing made sense. Instead, I quickly followed a cable off to the side where it extended up the side to some kind of housing in the wall.

I used a wrench lying around to break the lock and pried it open. Inside, a large cylinder bigger than my helm stood, connected to the box by clips that were glowing with green electricity.

Having no time to think, I plunged my servos in and grabbed it, trying to pull the power source out. Electricity shot through my frame and I screamed but my digits locked up and wouldn't let go. Bracing my pede against the wall, I gave one last sharp tug and it came out, sending me crashing to the ground.

The wind was knocked out of me and the battery went rolling off. I coughed and got onto shakey servos and knees before staggering to my pedes, my breathing labored as I looked up.
