Renegade jumped and sat up as loud noises suddenly woke her from her sleep.

She grumbled and lay back down, pulling the blanket Nautica had found her over her helm, trying to block it out. But that only seemed to make it get louder so she sighed and gave up, pulling the chords that were connected to the berth out of the back of her helm and dragging herself out of bed, shuffling to the door.

She stuck her helm out and turned her gaze to the speaker located in the corner at the top of where two walls met. She listened to the weird sounds coming from it soon followed by someone talking in a strange way that seemed to flow together.

"Say my name and his in the same breath, I dare you to say they taste the same. Let the leaves fall off in the summer and let December glow in flames!"

"What the frag is he on about?" She muttered, hearing the words and not comprehending what they meant.

The door to the room next to hers opened and Black Shadow walked out, looking pissed off at the speaker. "I'm startin' to remember why I hated him." He grumbled.

"What's going on?" Fulcrum asked before she could as he opened the door opposite hers, "And what in the name of the Pits is that noise?"

"Music," Nautilator explained, walking down the hall and yawning while Cosmos trudged behind him, still half-asleep, "Soundwave's version of an alarm clock. Though this is a nice change from the heavy metal stuff he used to play in the mornings."

"I quite like it," Glitch said with a grin in his voice, spinning and dancing to the beat while snapping his claws.

"There's the entertainer in him coming out," Fulcrum laughed, walking alongside and steering him in the right direction before he danced off down the wrong hall.

"What's music?" Renegade asked, taking one step out and not even flinching when Breakdown picked her up like a toy and put her on his shoulder, Knockout seemingly the only one properly awake as he walked briskly ahead of them.

"It's a form of art and people expressing themselves through a variety of sounds and noises," The cherry mech explained, "Then you sing along to it and create songs for others to listen to and enjoy. It's different all over the universe and from the fact it's in the language English, I'd say this is from Earth."

She nodded and closed her optics, listening a bit more while they walked upstairs.

"I don't care what you think as long as it's about me! The best of us can find happiness in mi-i-isery!"

She let out a small hum, trying to decide if she liked it as whoever was singing repeated the words amidst the noises and seemed to roll the word 'misery' around in his mouth.

"Why don't the words make sense?" Nautilator asked as the music echoed down the stairs as they climbed, "I mean, what does 'Pull a breath like a cigarette' and 'Let the guitar scream like a fascist' mean? What even is a cigarette and a guitar!?"

"Earth things," Breakdown said, "It makes sense when you know what those humans are going on about."

"Humans?"

"The native species of Earth," Needlenose called, "They're like us but definitely lack our intelligence and are made of organic matter instead of metal. They're fragile and gross."

"You can say that again," Fulcrum snorted, "They secrete water and spit slime. Don't even get me started on the stuff that comes out their noses!"

"Ew," Renegade frowned, furrowing her brow while trying to make sense of how something like that was even possible.
