POV: Amelia
"Hey Amelia, I have something to tell you." Cosmo said because I could open my mouth.
"I don't think we should go today. How about tomorrow?" Cosmo asked with a weak smile.
"Oh- um. I was actually just about to say the same thing. With the whole Rose thing and all. Zach is a bit too much to fill my head right now." I said in my best lying voice.
"Ok." He nodded then I started to walk away back to my room. I could feel his stare on me as I stepped over a notebook on the ground and reached for the knob on my door.
"Wait." I turned around and saw him looking at me intently. He face looked like it was puzzle. It was awkward, not but not at the same time, like normal.
"Whats with the scar?" He asked then pointed towards me from the other side of the room.
"Huah?" I asked offended and confused. He started walking towards me and my heart fluttered. He stopped infront of me and slighty bended down to brush the hair of the corner off my ear.
"There, that scar beside your ear. How did you get it?"
I smacked his hand away and covered the spot. "How did you see that? I thought I covered it so well."
"You swang around so abrupty your hair moved." Cosmo said and nervously smiled.
"Oh, well- um." I studdered but couldnt find words. "I got it when I was younger."
"In, um, highschool."
"Really?" Cosmo asked confused.
"Yeah. A book was thrown at my face and I had to go to the nurse."
"Who did that?"
"You don't remember?
"I don't think I was even there or in the room."
"Cosmo, it was you. You through the book at me."
The room was silent. He started at me as he saw a ghost, his mouth was moving but no words came out of there. I knew he must be feeling surprised to hear this but how could he not remember? It lingered in my mind and removed my hand from my forehead.
"Can.. can I see it again...?" He asked.
I brushed my hair away from the scar so light could catch. His face looked as if he just friend murdered. "Cosmo?"
"I'm sorry." He whispered then bowed his head, his brows furrowed. By this time it was dark outside and the only thing providing light was the lamp hanging from the ceiling. Music started blasted from the dorm next door, some love song made in the 1900s from the sound of it.
It really didn't fit the vibe.
"Its fine, I mean your 5 years late but its okay." I removed my hand from my forehead and rolled my eyes.
"Really tho." He lifted his head. "I'm sorry I didn't even remember."
"You don't remember everything from 5 years ago."
"Yeah, but to not remember that is... embarrasing."
"Okay, your just being cringy right now." I crossed my arms and turned my head, feeling a blush creap up my face.
I didn't hear him say anything but I didn't turn around.
"DING-LING-LING, WHATS THAT?! A PHONE CALL-" I grabbed the phone and answered it.
"Hello?" My voice cracked.
"I believe we have found information on Rose Thawkhorn. If you could come to the office and be informed, we would gladly appreciate it."
"W-what?" I asked, pale.
"Amelia?" I heard Cosmo call to me. I immediatly ended the call and turned to Cosmo my eyes wide.
"They found information of Rose." I ran to the front door and grabbed my jacket off the hook.
"I'm coming." He said from behind me.
We ran all the way from the doormitories to the main block and up the stairs to get into the office. When openeing the doors I half expected to see Rose in there, but my heart dropped when I didn't see her.
"I got a call about Rose Thawkhorn?" I informed the front desk and they showed me the way.
Inside the principal's office I saw a pink tote bag white "flow" in a dark pink curly font on the front. That was Rose's bag. I froze at the sight of it. The bag looked half burned and muddy and dirty.
"Does this bag look of familiar?" The secretary asked and I nodded.
"This is the Bag she took when we were heading to architecture class. S-she had this exact one but why the hell is it burnt?" I panicked.
"It was found at the back of the building where classes were held." She said.
I stared at her confused. What the hell? Wasn't the fire a false alarm.
"Anything else found?" Cosmo asked fron behind me.
"Unfortuantly, no. But it appears on the bag we found strands on black straight hair as well as curly hair." The secretary said.
"Hm." He sighed. "Amelia. Let's go."
"Can we keep the bag?" I asked, my voice small.
"Unfortunatly no. It will be used for further investigation."
"WHAT?" I yelled. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN?!" I took a step forward.
"Miss please calm down!"
I walked right in the secretary's face and slapped her.
"Amelia! Stop!" Cosmo grabbed my arm and pulled me back. "Lets go back."
My face furrowed. I really wanted to grab the bag and run but I listened to Cosmo and walked out of the office with him.
When we were about halfway there Cosmo said to me: "I'm sure they'll find her."
"Your attempt at reasuring me isnt helping. I don't trust those fucking idiots to find her."
"Yeeash. But you didn't have to slap her-"
"Can you stop please?" I raised my voice stopping and turning back to glare at his face. He made a face and then nodded. I turned around and continued walking forward.
"Wait." He said and I turned around. He was looking into a small building. It appeared to be the campus cafe and inside there wasn't much people.
"You see someone?" I asked.
"Yeah, Ophelia."
My eyes widened and I looked back inside and spotted the cute girl with red glasses. And guess what? She was talking to someone. Some handsome guy that had brown curly hair and a prince-y like face (the basic guy you would see from high school musicals.)
Ophelia's faced looked like she was enjoying things a little TOO much. I could see Cosmo's face itching at bit and looking annoyed. He looked back to me then into the shop.
He then took my hand and said "Hey. To clear your mind lets get a drink." And my heart fluttered. He looked so soft and gentle in that moment I immediatly said yes.
"Sure. If were getting back at Ophelia I'm totally in."
"Lets go then!" And we went inside.
