My name is X. I'm a detective who volunteered to join and investigate this game. Why is this game a thing? Why is it advertised? Why has no one brought light to this? Many questions lay unanswered but I've been known well for finding the answers. Currently I'm shocked. I didn't expect to find other people in this game, especially not competent ones.
"I know this the same way you'd all out to know if you'd been in as many of these as I have been."

"Okay, next question. What the hell is our goal for getting out of this one?"

"The gates. Haven't you noticed? I've been working on the machinery in the shadows not really knowing you were all here until I saw the officer there carrying you all. It was amazing to see how he'd escaped. Very efficient fighter. What of them though? We don't all have to leave just majority calls for a victory on our side. It's-"

"I will not be leaving them behind. We wake them up and we all escape Mr. X." The Nurse didn't like what I implied but it is what it is.

"Here." I gave her the bottle and then proceeded to walk to a window.
"Can you come here please?" I called out to The Mercenary and Officer Scott, both came over. Reaching into my pocket I pulled out a map unfolding it and showing it to them.
"This is a map of the place. We're here. The exits aren't plentiful. I led them away for a moment but knowing The Edge."

"Who?"

"Ngh!" The Mercenary felt his back burn and that made things pretty clear who I was talking about, so I continued.

"He won't play the rules fair. He's been here longer than us and the rules seem to love bending for him. He'll break the panel but we have one more to use to escape. We need to fight. They'll make it quick if we don't get there first and start clicking. We'll be trapped in the madness and we don't want that." I finished the plan and waited for their input.
"Who is the Adversary?"

"Felix. Boy with the camera."

"Okay. Guard?"

"Me." Officer Scott took his pistol back and reloaded the clip, passing it over to The Mercenary again.
"Last ten."

"All we'll need."

"All we can hope we'll need. Felix is the target, if he dies we all die and that gate gets locked. We protect him no matter what. Now here's how."

TIK TIK TIK TIK TIK TIK TIK TIK!

"Clear.."

"Go go."

TIK TIK TIK TIK TIK TIK TIK TIK! TIK TIK TIK TIK TIK TIK TIK TIK! TINK!

"Gah!!" I fell to the floor in terror as the harpoon missed my head by inches.
"She's here!" I clicked the buttons once more but before I could finish I heard her humming increasing. Then her screams as lights blared from behind me. I kept focused on the code knowing what was happening behind me.

"Got her!" Xavier shouted as they electrocuted the woman using wires that X had rigged up to react to her water. She shrieked in pain the harpoon coming back to her as she swung frantically at everyone.

BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM!!

Next were the shots causing her to scream and retreat in pain. Then a wail of rage was heard and without a second to spare Xavier was launched across the sky. The Man appeared and went to attack me. I heard him groan and saw his claws crash into the metal doors beside me and then we locked eyes. His eyes were painted black as night and in those midnight orbs of his were two red dots of rage. He went to slash me but was tugged away. I heard Officer Scott fighting before I heard him shout from being launched. Almost done! Almost! Almost!

CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK!

There's my camera. X has moved in. I'm almost done I'm-

"AH!" No no no no! I'm being pulled away! The man managed to grab me and tug me away. I saw in my peripheral vision The Mercenary came running in shooting at him from behind before jumping onto his back and hitting him with the gun. He was grabbed and both of us were strangled causing me to cough and choke. I- I-

"AAAAAAAAHHH!!!!" Air! I felt myself able to breathe once more and I did what any logical person would do and tried to assess the situation but I wasn't given a second to do so. Amanda was in front of me.

"Get back on track!" She helped me up and I finished clicking the last digits and the door opened. I saw The Edge gripping his head in pain but I ignored it. We all ran as fast as we could to the exit. Amanda helped Xavier towards the exit, Scott ran and grabbed me, The Mercenary ran and-

SHINK!

"AAAAAH!!!"

"Damn it!" The woman speared Felix and the exits began to be blocked by a black mist. None of us could traverse. We tried. We really did. The Edge didn't give us any openings... Not anymore. He painted The Exit red. The Mercenary, slashed. Scott, slit. Nana, Impaled... I tried but soon I was held by my throat choking and gasping for air while Jack held Felix up.

THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP! CRASH!

"Kuh!" I caught my breath and saw what I was only praying was true. Our last hopes.

BOOM!!!

The sound was loud and impactful. It made Jack drop Felix and with him free The Mist left. The woman was down thanks to my hero. He lifted me on his shoulder and ran full sprint to the exit grabbing Felix while the woman ran and escaped. However the last thing I noticed was what sent my heart into a slight sadness.

Scott Didn't Make It.
