RICK'S P.O.V. It's been about an hour and we heard news that Kate just got out of surgery.  The Dr. Montgomery would be out in a few minutes to tell us about Kate. I was just overjoyed that she was alive. And then I saw the doctor. "Katherine Beckett." She said, and we all stood up. "I'm her father." Jim said. "And I'm her fiance." I said. She just nodded and we went to her. "Kate is out of surgery and in recovery," she said, and we all smiled, "But she's not out of the woods yet. Part of her uterus tore due too roughness of- well multiple times, and-" "She was abused, in a relationship with an old boyfriend, and then he beat her and things of that nature. He and his friends then kidnapped her, and you can guess the rest." Once I finished I looked over at Jim who was crying with his head down. He was drunk most of the time, and didn't bother to contact Beckett. She did when she found out that she was pregnant, and then in the hospital, but those were all messages left on the phone, and so this was the first time he had heard about Beckett's whole kidnapping.  "Oh my god," the doctor said, "But the problem with that is she might not be able to have anymore kids." "What?" I said, with shock. "I'm very sorry. Now would you like to tell her, or would you rather I?" "No. no, I'll do it. Can we see her." "Right now only immediate family, and that's you two." "Rick you can go," Jim said, "I'll talk to her later." "Ok." I said, and the doctor led me to her room.

When I entered she was awake just anxious to get some news. She lit up when I walked in. "Hi." I said. "I'll leave you two." The doctor said leaving the room and closing the door. "Before you ask, our baby boy is fine and healthy." "Ok great," she said, "But what aren't you telling me?" "What makes you think I'm hiding something." "Because I'm engaged to you, and know when your lying, or stressed, or nervous, you do this little thing with- ah I probably shouldn't tell you. But it makes me like you even more, and -" "We can't have more kids." I blurted out like an idiot. "What?" "Your uterus tore, and it's almost certain that we can't have anymore kids." "Castle, what are you talking about." "The doctor. She said, that- we probably can't have anymore kids." "Why?" "Well when you were gone-" "You mean raped." "yes." "That's why I can't have more kids." "Yes. But we might be able to." "Yeah but probably not." "We'll get through this, ok?" "Ok, can I see my baby now?" "I'll go get the doctor."

KATE'S P.O.V Once Castle left to go get our baby and the doctor I broke down in tears. I cannot live a life without any other kids, I mean sure we could adopt some kids but it would never be the same. A few minutes later he came back and I brushed away my tears. "This is our son, he's beautiful." Castle said, coming over to me and placing our son in my arms. I started to tear up. "He's beautiful." I said. "Before you went into surgery you said that you knew the perfect name for our son. What was it?" "I was James. I mean I know it might be kind of stupid, because it's based on one of your characters but-" "No, no, no, I love it. It's perfect." "He going to have your eyes, Castle." "Yeah, ok, but he's gonna have your hair." "I love you, so , so much." "I love you too. Now can we go home I just want to  be with you and our son." "Of course, I'll go talk to your doctor about discharge papers.

Once he left I just stared into Jame's eyes, they were so blue, they were Castle's. They mesmerized me. I started to talk to him. "Hey little boy," I said, "Welcome, I hope you like it here. I'm your mommy, and you look just like your daddy and me. I just want you to know that we are going to take great care of you, and love you with all of our hearts. And life may get rough, but us, our family, we get through it, eventually. And it's important to never lose hope, ok?" I love him, just as much as I loved Castle. They mean more to me than I could ever imagine, ever dream. After my conversation with James, Castle came back in a few minutes later.

"Ok," he started, "The doctor said that you can leave tonight, and that they just want to monitor you for the day. Ok?" "Perfect." I replied. He then leaned down and kissed me and then the forehead of our son. "Can I hold him?" he asked. "Of course. He is your son." "He's just so beautiful." "He's gonna act just like you. You know that right?" "Yeah." Castle then smiled at James. From that moment I knew that we were going to be a perfect family. A few hours passed, of James crying, Castle and I comforting him, me feeding him, Castle kissing me, and then Castle and I watching our son fall asleep, and go of into wonderful dreams of bliss and baby happiness. When the sun finally set,  I urged Castle to sign the discharge papers so we could finally go home. He nodded in agreement and left the room, I watched him from the window as he walked over to the nurse desk, and reach for the pen. A nurse then came in and started unhooking all my cords and iv's. She then helped me with James and packing up my stuff. We strapped him into the car seat and giggled as he laughed. The nurse and I said our goodbyes just as Castle came in. He smiled ear to ear at the sight in front of him. "You ready to go home?" he asked. "Most certainly, Mr. Castle." I responded picking up the baby car seat with one hand, and lacing our fingers together with the other.

The drive home was silent, because we didn't want to wake James. Once we reached Castle's loft parking garage, we got out of the car. Castle went for the bags in the trunk, while I went for our baby boy. We met at the back of the car and walked into Castle's apartment "complex" greeting the doorman, who tipped his hat to us on the way to the elevator. Once the doors closed I started a conversation with Castle, "You know," I said, "Elevators have a sexy history with us." Castle just smiled recalling all our times in their, the ones in his apartment and the ones in the precinct. "All of those times are fond memories that I like to hold on to." he replied leaning toward me for a gentle and slow kiss. We pulled back fighting the urge, to not attack each other. Luckily the elevator opened to his floor and we made it successfully inside. I flicked on the lights, only to find a crowd of people their ready to yell surprise. I quickly raised a hand as to shut up and not say a word, but I said it politely of course. So instead they all yelled surprise in a soft whisper, and then quietly gathered around to see the new member of the family.

Once everyone saw the sleeping baby, Castle and I put him to sleep in his newly finished room. We laid him down, and watched him snuggle up in the blankets and toys that were covered in our scent. Castle wrapped his arm around me and said, "We did good, we did damn good." I glanced over to him replying, "Oh Castle, the things I'll do to you when everyone leaves. I saw a gleam come over his eyes and his pupils dilate. "You will definitely be the death of me, my lovely wife Katherine." We then turned around and headed out the door, and I smacked his ass, and the he grabbed mine. We then laughed down the stars, eager to tell our family and friends, about the adventures and times we had in and inside out of the hospital and precinct.
