"Are you sure you're alright." A concerned Layla inquired, studying her quiet friend.
Eleonora absently nodded. She had no wish whatsoever to tell Layla what was going to and fro within her head.
Layla looked like she was going to take her questioning further but silenced.
Eleonora inwardly sighed in relief. She was relieved that Layla didn't ask more since she couldn't take any more.
Yesterday was one of the most complicated days of her life. Complicated because one word wasn't enough to describe it.
Not only had she been attacked by an unknown person, she had also witnesses brutal violence before her eyes. The battle she saw yesterday would, without a doubt, be engraved in her memory forever.
Why? Why? Why? That word with three letters raced in her brain.
Why was this happening to her? Why was she being stalked? Why was she attacked? Why was she saved?
It was clear that her savior hadn't just been there coincidentally. It even seemed as though he knew her assault deliverers.
After he had left her on the ground, confused, dazed, shaken and shocked, she had managed to stand up and stagger to her car.
It was a wonder that she didn't end up in an accident. She barely recalled her drive home. When she had arrived, she had stumbled in and had headed straight for her room without much as an acknowledgement to her perplexed roommate, hence the questions.
Sleep had proven to be impossible and Eleonora had spent the better part of the night rolling from one side to the other in her bed.
Since she had been numb with shock last night, she hadn't been able to process anything.
Today was the day that everything had crashed down on her. Eleonora just hoped that Layla would leave soon, leaving Eleonora to do whatever she could do to react to this situation.
The reason behind her secrecy was a suspicion that had entered her mind the moment she had woken up from her very short slumber.
There was a big chance that the Secret Stalker was behind this. He might have wanted to kidnap her or do god knows what. That thought brought a shudder from Eleonora.
Thankfully, Layla finished her breakfast and announced her departure. Just as she was about to walk out of the front door, she turned to face Eleonora.
"I know something is bothering you." She said and sighed before sitting down beside Eleonora on the couch she was on, "Look, I know I've known you for a little time but I'm your friend and you can tell me anything okay?"
Oh dear Layla. If only I could. I really wish to but it's for your own safety. Eleonora though sadly.
Hiding her thoughts, Eleonora plastered her perfect smile. "Thanks Layla. I know, I'm alright though. Just tired."
Layla scrutinized her for a moment before nodding. Giving her a hug, Layla walked out of the door.
Eleonora let out a breath. She had classes today. Looking down at her jeans and sweater, Eleonora decided not to change. It might as well decrease the attention of the males in her class.
Grabbing her stuff, Eleonora walked out of her house. Her white Nissan purred to life as she reversed.
As she drove towards the SU Campus, her attention was all on the road. The almost accident prior to her attack didn't leave her mind.
