"Pumunta na kaya tayo sa hospital?" Nag-aalala tumingin sa akin si Xeron. "Malapit kana manganak, ayoko naman magaya ka sa mga kaibigan ko na muntikan na mapa-anak sa kasal niya." The fear is evident in his eyes.

I chuckled softly. "My due date is next month, and I still feel fine."

Actually, I can still move around despite my huge belly. I haven't felt much discomfort yet, just some back pain.

"Pero... mas mabuting handa tayo 'diba? Sabihan mo na akong praning pero ayoko matulad sa asawa ng mga kaibigan ko." He shyly scratched his head. "Mga nonchalant pero mga oa mataranta." He chuckled.

I would also be worried if my stomach starts to hurt. I'm a first-time mom, clueless about everything, aside from the fact that giving birth is hard.

I held his cold hand. He's been urging me to go to the hospital for weeks now, pero hangga't kaya ko pa, hindi ako mag pa-padala sa hospital. Mapapamahal sa siya sa bill.

"It's too expensive-"

"I prepared for this, Fluffy. I saved up for this." He smiled frugally. "Don't worry about the expenses, I'll take care of that."

It feels so good to have someone who is willing to do everything just to keep his mother and child safe.

What if I never met him? What about me and my child? I don't know where we would end up if he didn't come into our lives.

Inabot ko ang malalambot niyang buhok para haplusin. "Don't worry, when I give birth–"

"When you give birth...just stay at home and wait for me to come back from work. Hindi ko kailangan ng katulong sa financial, kaya ko buhayin ang mag-ina ko." He cut me off.

Natigilan ako at hinawakan ang baba niya. "Ano ka ba! Bilang magiging asawa mo–"

"Ay, shet ang sarap sa ears." Muling putol nito sa sasabihin ko. Kumapit ang kaniyang dalawang braso sa aking bewang. "Isa pa nga, fluffy."

I laughed. Pabiro ko kinurot ang dalawa niyang tenga. "You're not letting me finish." I said in a slightly sulking tone. "Pero seryoso, gusto ko pag nanganak ako sisimulan ko na maghanap ng trabaho."

Gusto ko makatulong sa mga gastusin. Especially now, we will have one more member in this household, of course, we need to work hard. It can't be just him, it's embarrassing even if he will be my husband in the future.

He frowned at me. "Fluffy, as long as I can, I won't let you work. If there's something you want to buy, I'm here to buy it for you. Kahit ano pa 'yan, kahit katawan ko pa–"

Before he could finish, I wiped his face to stop him. Nagsisimula na naman ang kalokohang lumalabas sa bibig nito.

"Let's just eat, maybe you're just hungry." Tumayo ako at nauna dumiretso sa kusina.

"Ano gusto mo kainin, fluffy?" I heard him ask from behind. Nakasunod pala siya agad.

"Gummy bears." Saad ko at hinanap sa ref ang itinabi ko. Madami-madami pa 'yon, dinagdagan pa nga niya nung kakauwi niya galing sa trabaho.

He was about to speak when his cellphone suddenly rang. We glanced at each other briefly before he went back to the living room to get his phone.

While he was in the living room, I quietly sat at the dining table and ate the gummies that were stocked in the fridge. I could hear him talking to someone, pero hindi gaano malinaw ang naririnig dahil medyo malayo kami sa isa't isa.
