Maybe, just maybe this isn't so bad, Lindsey had to admit to himself. He didn't truly believe that he would find his future wife on some app, but it was a great source of entertainment. In the last three hours, Lindsey got a bunch of messages and more than a few offers that ranged from a cup of coffee sometime to a drink that same night, to, well... sex. He politely declined some, others he just ignored.

It was also a huge ego boost. Either Lindsey seemed like a catch for reasons unknown to him or maybe the women on there were desperate. He'd moved into the bedroom at some point, his phone in his hand at all times. Was this his favorite new activity? Even if, he would never tell a soul.

Lindsey was checking the many different profiles himself now as opposed to waiting for someone to message him first. He would have liked to believe he was more into someone's personality rather than looks, but all he had to go on was appearance. There were a lot of beautiful women to choose from, but he skipped most of them. He wasn't entirely sure yet what he was looking for, he just knew none of them were it, until...

"Stevie?" Lindsey frowned.

He had never met a woman named Stevie before. His thumb hovered above the name as he stared at the picture for a minute. A flower in her long blond hair, gorgeous brown eyes, a beautiful big smile from ear to ear and not even a little bit of makeup on her face. At least, he thought so, he wasn't an expert. There was a tiny green dot next to her name.

"You're so gorgeous, you made me forget my amazing pickup line."

His phone pinged almost immediately. The message was so stupid, she probably called him an idiot and asked not to talk to her ever again.

"Do you like raisins?" Again, confused.

"How about a date?"

Lindsey burst out laughing, not having expected that at all. Beautiful and funny?

"That was funny!" Sent. "I didn't think you'd message me back."

"Oh, why's that? You thought, you scared me away with that silly pickup line? I've received waaaaaay worse!"

Lindsey needed some time to think, he didn't want to ask any of the standard, overused questions, but he found himself wanting for the conversation to continue. "Your picture really stands out, you are gorgeous, that wasn't just part of the pickup line."

"Does it? What do you like about it so much?"

Didn't he just say that she was gorgeous? "Others are trying too hard, yours is natural." Good, that was good. "You're beautiful just the way you are." Too much?

"Thank you. I wish, I could say the same about you, but I can barely see your face in your picture."

Shit. He wasn't planning on sharing more of himself so soon. She probably just wants to make sure I'm real. "It's for your and your eyes only!"

His phone was silent for a moment.

"See, now I can tell you that you're gorgeous too."

Lindsey was grinning. What the hell was going on? Was he really enjoying talking to a stranger he met on a freaking dating app?

"So, you like drawing? I draw too sometimes."

And they have mutual interests?

"I'm no Picasso, but I do enjoy it."

"Good, he's never been one of my favorites anyway."

Damn, was she trying to get him to like her. "Okay, I gotta ask... Stevie?"

"Stephanie, but I've been Stevie for as long as I can remember, LINDSEY."

Lindsey chuckled at his name in all caps, fair point. "Would you like to get the boring stuff out of the way so we can move on and really get to know each other?"

"Sounds like a plan. So..."

It was nearly 3 a.m. when Lindsey sent his 'goodnight' message and finally put his phone down.
