A long moment of silence followed. There was no way for Stevie to pretend that she misheard. She soon began feeling bad because she was taking forever to respond, but she just didn't expect to hear Lindsey make a confession like that first thing in the morning. Lindsey waited, giving her all the time she needed to say something back. It was a massive risk, but he wasn't questioning his choice to tell her that he loved her because he did.
"Is... is it because I- I offered you coffee?" Stevie spoke up at least, leaning against a kitchen counter.
"No." Lindsey replied, laughing at her question. "Even though that was extremely nice of you." He added jokingly. "I'm not waiting for you to repeat what I said. I realize that that was pretty huge, but..." He paused, standing up to his feet. "I had to say it." He said, closing the gap between them. "You can tell me all about how we've only known each other for a short time, that there's still so much we don't know about each other..." He lay his hands on her shoulders. "But I mean it." He leaned in and pressed a kiss to her forehead. "I'm gonna let you have a moment."
Stevie remained standing where she was. A couple of minutes passed and she heard Lindsey turn the water on in the bathroom for a shower. She cocked her head back and exhaled heavily. He wasn't drunk, he didn't tell her he was in love with her right after they had sex the night before. No, he definitely meant it. What did she feel for him? Was she in love with him too? She knew that she liked being around him, spending time with him. She loved the fact that they had so many common interests. She thought he was intelligent which made him much more attractive. He made her laugh even though he didn't consider himself to be particularly funny. He made her feel safe. He loved her.
Lindsey grabbed the shampoo bottle and poured some into his palm. He put the bottle away and rubbed his hands together, then ran them through his hair. A short moment later, he stepped under the running water to rinse the shampoo out, his eyes closed. He suddenly felt much cooler air hit his naked body and carefully opened his eyes, unsure if he'd already gotten all of the shampoo out of his hair.
"I'll be out in a minute if you wanna talk." Lindsey said, realizing that Stevie had undressed only when she stepped in. "Wha-"
Her arms wrapped around his neck as she leaned in to kiss him. She didn't give him any time to think, pressing him close to herself as her lips parted and he felt her tongue pushing past his. It was almost embarrassing how strongly his body reacted to her, but that was just what she did to him even if they had been making out only for a few minutes.
"The water's too cold." Stevie broke the kiss to say.
"Yeah, well, this was my shower." Lindsey replied, then heard her yelp when he lifted her up and pressed her back against the even colder tiled wall.
She was gripping him tightly with her legs wrapped around him while he feasted on her neck, his arm around her back, his free hand sliding over her thigh until it reached and grabbed her ass. He pulled back just a little to make room for his hand in between them, making her hold onto him tighter. He loved pleasuring her in every possible way and he could watch her writhe and listen to her moan or gasp out his name forever.
"Please." It came out quietly, but he heard.
He groaned as he pushed inside her. He pulled all the way out and disappointment crossed her face before she dug her nails into his back when he thrust into her again. He knew not to do that again when she kept her eyes open and locked with his. There was something so special about that, it heightened the already intense feeling. They weren't connected just physically, but emotionally too like never before. Neither of them looked away for a second to fully experience something so entirely different...
He carefully lowered her down, but didn't let go of her right away, feeling smug that her legs were still a little shaky. She smiled somewhat shyly at him as if they hadn't just had sex in the shower and reached up to press a soft kiss to his lips.
"Are you going to ask me to marry you if I make you some scrambled eggs?" Stevie teased, making him laugh.
"Not yet." Lindsey replied, giving her a cheeky slap when she turned around to get out.
