I'm Sonic.
The Fastest Thing Alive, the hero, the Blue Blur, whatever you wanna call me, I'm the hero of the story, but I don't mind being the bad guy. The villain of the story is Eggbutt over there, tryna shoot robots at me to destroy me or whatever.
But... my life wasn't always like that. I wasn't always the hero. I was originally a normal kid trying to survive school, abusive family and bullies, finding my own life and purpose. My parents were royalty, along with my siblings Sonia and Manic.
Sonia was a spoiled brat, making sure she got what she wanted, basically the most popular kid in school. Boys wanted to date her and girls wanted to be like her. She was an arrogant snob who had all the friends she needed.
Manic was just the same. He stole what he wanted and never gave it back but strangely it didn't cause him to lose friends. Sonia and Manic were the most popular kids in school. I looked up to them and I wanted to be like them. But the feeling wasn't mutual.
At my birth, my mother almost dropped me. "EUGH! What is that mutant?! Where is my baby?!" She asked. "This...This is your baby, ma'am..." answered the doctor. "It's a hedgehog. An abomination. A freak of nature! That cannot be our child!" retorted Father.
"Unfortunately, it is my king," said the nurse, grimacing at me. "It's a boy." She continued. Father and Mother glared at me in disgust. "That. Is Not. Our Son. Even if it is our baby, it's not our son." growled Mother.
"Where do you suggest we put him my queen?" asked Doctor. "We'll keep him. We have very fun things to do with this abomination of a prince..." sneered Father. The doctor and nurse nodded respectfully and the assistant told Sonia and Manic that the baby was born.
When she saw me Sonia was immediately disgusted. "EW! Is that our brother?!" asked Sonia. "It's so...so... ugly and pathetic!" grimaced Manic. "We know kids... that's why we're naming it Mutant." agreed Mother.
"Mutant! Hahaha! That's so fitting for such an ugly kid like him." mocked Sonia. Mother smiled proudly and Father laughed loudly. From then on I was called Mutant. That was the only name I knew, so that's what I was called.
My life only got worse when I got to go to school for the first time...
